Those little steins have been very popular around 1900.
This is a simple one.

Seems some of the regulars are here for a sunday evening beer.
I have a Schneider Weiße.
Not brewed by Neil,
But of course I would like to taste his specials.

Photo is lousy I know, the beer is much better!

Do you use the expression “lousy” in UK/USA?
In German it would be “lausig”.
Its in use but looks antiquated.

Enjoyed a rare IPA last evening. Rare in that I usually stick w/ darker ale or even porter if I can find…

Bubble stash ipa. Was very very good, and nice tangerine taste and nose.

Would have contemplated a phot, but alas, much tooo late to snap…

Will be sourcing these at the bevy store this week, for sure, and will edit in a phot or two…

Seems there are only two threads alive.
The beer thread and the weekend thread.
OK, why not.
We are living like on a small island.
We are only a few active members left here.
But we are alive.
PROST from München!

How is the weather there in the Nort?h
Here it will get hot next week.
But what will happen in the Winter when Putinowitsch will cut our gas supply.
I have a lot of wood stored.
So I am not so afraid of as others may be.

I will not tell here who is responsible for this disaster.
Its not only Putinowitsch believe me.
There are some others as well.
But now its enough said.

I always avoid cans.
Bottles are better and bigger

Glass bottle : 8c deposit
can /plastic bottle : 25c deposit.

The introduction of these can/plastic bottle deposit
was the only reasonable thing the Greens ever made here.

Though its said Germany is a “rich” country, there are many pensioners here who
have to collect those cans and bottles to increase their lousy retirement.
(Not me, thank goodness)

The German government is perfect paying for all other countries in the world but doesn’t care about the German people.
STOP!!! Politics!
But this has to be said, even on monday.

Will getting a little bit more summer this week.

Bildschirmfoto%20zu%202022-07-18%2007-44-50

The “lying quality press” = Lügenpresse in German
(Is there a fitting expression in English?)
speaks about “heat shock”.

What a stupid nonsense.
These are Summer Temperatures, nothing else.

All drinkers & boozers gone?

Not me I am active.
Even in buying beer steins.

You all think, “old Franz” is buying rubbish?

No he doesn’t.

Lets take a look on the lid.
It has a porcelain inlay with a funny scene.

“The captured lady poacher”
(She is trying to escape with the hare, but the hunter’s dog got her)

Funny erotical scene from about 1900.
Those are a little bit rare because of the prudery in those times.

There are other ones :
A normal scene on the top of the lid,
but on the inner side there is more to be seen.

Prost from München

Hey beer team, long time no speak.
Recently my work took part in its annual charity labour giveaway, where we can take time out of work to help local charities.
I signed up to sort beer thats been donated.
The bad news, they can only sell beer with more than 3 months use by date.
The good news, anything with less than three months can be taken by those donating their time.
Here is this year’s selection.
@Chiquinho recognise any of these Franz?
Any that I should avoid?

Many bottles!
Too many

It doesn’t matter much, if the date is expired.
I drunk beers with one year after expiration. :-).
Good, no problem. Still alive.
A skilled beer friend will know with the first mouthful if its good or not.
And even if its “not good” the consuming will only end in diarrhea.

Funny : I see “Giesinger Bräu” a small but sophisticated and expensive brewery here in München…

Never forget Paul, we are in a “crisis”, so take what you can get!
You can take them all Paul.
I am not such a friend of Pils (your German friend from the North could be)
I like Weißbier.
If you can get such one let me know.
There are some bottles as far I see.

PROST Paul, alter Freund!
And greetings to Charlie and Debbs.

oh what a very nice selection… i’d throw a vote for the marzen and dunkels… the helles would be interesting contrast in comparison… we’re just starting to see some show here.

should you make selection would be interested to see some photos and tasting musings…

cheers!

Don’t forget the Weißbier.
Of course Dunkles and Märzen are tasty as well.
But Paul has to come in touch with such stuff as well.
I will tell him how to pour it.
Too bad I can not help him drinking!

What I am wondering were Paul’s charity gets all these beers from.
Small German breweries.
Normally they do not a great export.
Can you tell us please @paulstevenewing?

Are these from German “care packets” for poor UK boozers?
(of course only kidding)

Hope, that we (me) all will come into troubles as they have now at soundcore forum.
Could they use expression such as “crybabies” or “point farmers”?
What a weird dispute there.

Hope I will not get banned using “boozers”
