22° outside seemed like an opportune time to do some grilling (mostly because I had to do some additional testing for it) but nothing like some eggs and hash browns cooked in bacon and sausage grease to close up the arteries a little.
Beer Club Thread
Very interesting.
Some bacon, the filling of a Bratwurst OK
But with bread covered with “jam”?
Or am I wrong as usual.
Btw what are these “black things” at the right side?
You know
Different countries, different tastes and customs,+
But we all like to learn from each other.
"THE FAMILY"
You were close on it:
Hickory smoked bacon
Sage breakfast sausage
Bread with jam
Black things = blackberries
I am not much of a breakfast person, but it seemed appropriate for the weather. My kids eat “healthy” so this was one of those times that they just looked and were questioning reality. Eggs cooked in bacon grease? Bacon? Sausage? Food that will stick in your stomach more or less.
Different type of breakfasts!
All this could serve me for full meal.
I thought there might be an enourmous inclreasing of prices regarding my beloved beers.
But no, a miracle!
Take a look.
Paulaner is good and tasty as well,
BUT “Franz” will buy some “Franziskaner” as usual…
I could hoard some boxes, I have space in the basement.
Prosit from München!
Ladies & Gentlemen, its time for a beer.
Snowfalls outside so lets take one.
You are wondering what that black apparatus is?
Its a little heater and I do use it to warm the beer.
An old man will never drink a cold beer.
Not good for the stomach.
AND, we were talking about,
if beer is ice cold there is no flavour you could also drink
p*ss.
Just finished helping the neighbour with some garden clearance, time for a well earned home brewed beer …and yes some was shared
Prost Neil.
I wish I could sit outside in the garden like you…
Winter is back here in München!
More snow than Christmas!
Was playing around with a donated laptop from my doc.
After inserting 8GB and installing LINUX MInt, its great!
May be I will go for a SSD, so it will be perfect.
Prost @Chiquinho
Currently enjoying a 4 day weekend so I’m keeping computers (where possible) at an arms length but sounds good, can’t go wrong with a SSD to rebirth a ‘retired’ laptop
I know Neil.
My collection of these “old goodies” is growing.
But I can not resist to rebirth these (nice expression )
Claro a retired computer engineer likes this kind of work and research.
Of course Franz, its named after me
Looks a great drop of stuff Neil👍🏻
So here is the selection for tonight.
Haven’t tried the Krombacher before, but sure itll be nice.
Cheers!
Yes Paulaner for you Paul-
If you come for a visit to München I will spend you a box of PAULaner.
Krombacher its “Pils”.
Pils not so my taste, but may be you like it its more “bitter”.
I remember in UK they have the “bitter”, so you can do a comparing.
What’s that on the right “Staro…”? could be Czech.
Prost Paul.
More snow in the night.
Looks really more than deep winter here.
Matching beers Franz, thats amazing
Staropramen is established in Czech Republic and brewed in the U.K.
I didn’t get round to the Krombacher, i feel asleep i front of the TV so that will be for tonight
Sunny and cold today, so what do we do when faced with such weather? Go to the coast!
Good coffee, amazing cake and maybe even chips for lunch.
I have to do some snow cleaning in front of the house and keep the tile stove on fire.
Enjoy the coast, I am envious.
I will swap with Charlie, he could build a huge “snow castle” with the neighbor’s kids.
All very busy now. Great!
I’d expect prizes to increase.
If the beer is stored cold in shop then the cost increase is already here. Otherwise most beer in a shop is averaging 3 months old so cost was fixed then.
So I’m expecting increase soon.
As a part of beer is wheat or barley or malt as these are grown in a war zone I’d expect a significant cost increase later in the year.
Of course the older folks know what to do. Stock up early before the beer shortage news causes panic and make your own beer. You can also make things which are not beer from potatoes.
We can ask @ndalby, he will teach us.
This would be a great fun.
And he has to answer questions as usual
eg. Today two of my new brewed bottles were exploding!
What have I done wrong?
Could it be too much yeast?
Ask the support!..hehehe!
You put too much sugar in the bottle. It is difficult to do accurately so I use pressure barrels. Sometimes you get the valve blowing out so need to make beer outdoors on concrete sloping floor.
