Meanwhile people here are hoarding vegetable oil an flour.
I will go for beer tomorrow!
Would be a disaster to run short off.

The reward for hoarding is if the situation ever arose those items are truly needed, you have a burglary.

I keep 2 weeks of stuff in for the most common situations, more than that the situation means you’re not safe.

I am able to defend my beer!
I can offer the burglars Schnapps!
More easy to take away.

It was pretty good. I treated it more as a dessert beer rather than a typical IPA. The Ube flavor really came through, so it’s also dependent on whether you like ube or not

It’s a welcome warm sunny late March high pressure in England so I headed into the Cumbria area, off-season prices

Lots of hiking, knackered!

Gadget list:

  • Anker 63W desk charger as B&B power sockets are often few and distant.
  • Anker 6ft USB-C cable for the above
  • Anker 3-in-1 cable to use for either my USB-C or my MicroB devices
  • Anker Nano backup charger just in case
  • Anker 20000 PD Powercore to last a long time off-grid. Two trips ago I broke my leg in this area and spent a day in road, ambulance, A&E and so I always keep 20000 now with me.
  • Bolder LC40 flashlight for powercuts or unexpected long day turns into night
  • Anker Slim buds. My favourites for light travel, hard to lose, take little space and simply work. Soundcore not made anything as good yet, despite my repeated asking.
  • 10.8" tablet for evenings, 8.4" tablet for travel bus/train use and phone.

None-gadget:

  • 30L backpack
  • “one on, one in wash, one ready to go” clothing system means with hot water and sink I can go on indefinitely.
  • Paramo Vista jacket for rain, windshell for cool, wear both for the worst conditions
  • Montane Minimus trousers for rain, and their windproof pants as backup pants, wear both for worst.
  • Trekking poles, don’t want to break another leg!

Out here in the garden its perfect ca 20C.
Will take some photos of all the beautiful flowers showing up at the moment.

But the most important thing is MY little cherry tree.
The blossoms will come soon.
So great to look at this tiny tree full of blossoms,

Lucky you, -9C here today and feels like somebody nearby got a foot of snow…

Oh well if we go right to summer I’m good with that…

Maybe the 6ft snow in the garden will melt🥶

I added up I’ve lived in 28 places. If you don’t like where you are then move. Rent your home out and put everything in storage and move. Sounds scary but it’s not as difficult as you imagine.

Useful to do it once as then if you’re forced to move then you know how.

Why not selling the house and buy a comfortable camper instead?
In the USA many are doing this.

No appreciable value in a camper, mind you perhaps lower cost to own and maintain… provided you are in warmer climate for sure.

Add in $9 gal for fuel and 🤦

Not suggesting a nomadic lifestyle, of move constantly, just seasonal where in spring you got north, autumn you go south… The birds do it.

I am sure you need to the be special type of person.
Modern nomads or gypsies.
My neighbor owns such a camper, not a big one, but really comfortable.
But I would never be happy to live in such one.
2 persons in such a sardine tin.

Its a question of custom, habit.
I need a lot of space to live.
OK, my first apartment when I was a student was pretty small.
But those after were flats with a lot of space, all > 100 sqm.
The house we own now is ca 260sqm.
That’s too much I know, but we can not move to a smaller one, and there is no need to.
So we can not use such a small camper to live in.

My humble homeoffice!
