Roll in some barrels! Paul.

He could store some of these at the backdoor and Charlie will help you with the sledge to save these.
I am sure there are many ways not to waste this beer.

British beer drinkers are creative!

It is the beer which was already barrelled and needed pressurised pumps which struggle to be redirected. You can adapt afterwards if you have a canning/bottle plant next to brewery to change future output but existing barreled beer is wasted.

Same in Germany :
Small breweries got probs if they are not big in the bottle business.
Claro : The bottle business is doing fine in the pandemia
Barrel sales are problematic, if pubs are closed.

BUT :
If I get a 100L barrel for free,
I will try to empty it, though it would take me while.
And I will not write more comments here. - > Too busy!

Too much time stuck at home isn’t healthy.

My leg is getting better able to bike now 2 hours before tired so less beer for me. The over tightened belt will thank me.

Days getting longer, I’m getting vaccine by May, so thinks looking up.

Glad you’re back on the bike @professor
And yes, lay off the beer, you don’t want to tempt another incident just yet!

Heard similar on the news a few days ago, so had a beer for them :beers:

During lockdown v1 many small breweries were selling direct to the public (bring a jug or barrel style) to raise funds and save wastage…surprised they haven’t gone the same route this time…

In Montana we drain to the Missouri river, which leads to the Mississippi, which waters about half the nation. People in Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee, Louisiana, and Mississippi would be drinking from the river!

Figured that I would revitalize this thread a bit with some of the beer I’ve recently been enjoying! Not sure if you guys have had Pliny before but this was a limited release that sold out in under 5 minutes. :beers:

What type of a beer? Imperial porter or lighter ale?

Looks interesting

It’s actually a triple IPA. They usually release it once a year on tap and people line up for hours to get a glass or two. They bottled it this year instead because of COVID.

Their most famous beer is called Pliny the Elder which is a double IPA. I think it’s one of the smoothest triple IPAs that I’ve had, with nice aromatics and strong flavors.

Now I’m thirsty… how hop forward?

I find it quite hop forward. Then I get a crisp citrus and honey flavor that lingers for a bit and smooths out gradually.
What really impresses me with every sip is that even with an ABV of 10.25% it’s very smooth and easy to drink.

What is the difference of ABV and %vol?

You see here a “Dunkler Doppelbock”
Really a strong stuff!
Has 7,6 %vol
(Normal beer has about 5,5 % vol here in Bavaria)
So I dont think that 10,25% is really 10,25 %vol.

One and the same I believe…ABV (alcohol by volume) is often shortened to %vol in some areas.
