Nice and refreshing.

More infos about please, Paul.

Suppose you didn’t look like the “fellow” on the label after drinking that.!

Hope you will not get my friend Charlie for your beer tester!

This is the Franziskaner.
May be he likes the old Franz- monk.

Not able to upload that monk.
Will try it later, but its not important.

Oh indeed @professor
The time will certainly come.
As long as he tops up the stocks he will be fine

When I was in Charlie’s age my father got a big stein I got a little one.
1/8 L
Drinking beer helped me to get as old as I am now.
Shouldn’t be the worst beverage!

PROST!

Had stocked up, the week before last, as the craft beer seems to not last or get restocked quite as fast as the big brewery beers…

Missed the barelywine this year…and the imperial porter

Did you ever think of homebrew? If not for your regular consumption but to handle scarce times? The raw ingredients last years, the shortest lived being hops.

If you know how then there’s pretty much a wine / cider / beer can be made out of anything, even rice which for example lasts years.

IF you make it yourself typically need to consume around week 6 as the natural antibacterial properties of alcohol only last usually that long and then you need chemicals for the store-bought type.

Now in winter is the best time as the fermentation needs warm constant temperature like you’d have in a thermostatically controlled winter home.

An odd beer here and there never did much harm Franz.
He doesn’t mind a sip of red wine or port!

Was a refreshing drink. I would have again @TheSnarkyOne
But to be fair, I haven’t tried a beer i wouldn’t drink again

It looks pretty good. I’m getting thirsty now

homebrew.
Yes we did 40 years ago.
But in those times it was not so easy to get all the stuff.
meanwhile It seems there are many such homebrew kids around.
my mother told me her father did in the 1930’s.
Was a strong stuff she remembered.
There was a hadnwritten book with some recipes from him, but got lost.

I have had a couple recently that I’d not get again… the Nanaimo bar porter had too much non beer ingredients that was a bit off putting.

The others have been quite good… seems this year the crafters are barrel aging more…

As long as you’ve liked the majority, that’s the main thing @TheSnarkyOne

I’m not sure how I got included on this thread but beer = life and I’m stoked to be here!

Also if anyone is in CA I’m now a Cannbassador for a company called Cann that makes a microdosed THC/CBD sparkling beverage. It’s my nightcap after my beers

I read this horrible story!
May be there is an article in English as well.
But I am sure the beer ist still fine as its a “best before date”

What a disaster. The good stuff!

@paulstevenewing , @ndalby, @professor
You could do some rescue actions.

I got it

I would do all I could to help out with this disaster.
I will message my local landlord and see if he has any spare that would be thrown away. :sunglasses:

Correct, a lot of beer went to waste, it lasts a few months then goes off, some pubs were able to sell it in take-away jars but most could not and it was poured away.

Some breweries which could only sell crates to pubs wasted a lot too, some breweries were already canning/bottling so could preserve their product.

It was the spontaneous flip-flop of the prime minister who gave short notice to changes which caused the waste, if he’d given 1-2 weeks notice then stocks could have been run down prior.
