Glad you posted here @gAnkster its reminded me this thread still exists.
I don’t have a drink yet, but its been one crazy day and that deserves a beer - well thats what ive told myself
Beer Club Thread
Our beer thread is a really important one!
Prost Paul.
Prost @Chiquinho @paulstevenewing and @professor! Good to see you all again, Indeed this is perhaps the most important thread Sorry to leave you in the dark for so long @AnkerOfficial, I plan to be here more often.
I work in education, specifically setting up and maintaining online learning platforms and teaching teachers and orgs how to use them, so I have been very busy lately. Barely any time even for beer! Things are settling down and I’m hoping to be around here regularly again.
Those pics are awesome @professor! I love the rainy countryside. Montana is very dry always, but lately in particular. We had a wildfire near Helena that smoked up the air pretty bad. Hard to get out and ride in such conditions. It’s all under control - fires are a normal part of the ecosystem here - but still annoying when one wants to get outside. 16L is a pretty spartan setup - I usually take a 20L drybag on my river daytrips - and that’s not even counting the cooler! But I’m not hauling it on a bike so it’s a bit easier to handle. Speaking of, I’ve been spending most of my time on the river lately when I am able to get out. The Soundcore Icon has really gotten a workout
Cool we all use Anker to get out and live.
I’ve got two of everything with me. Phone (taking picture), tablet (is an LTE model), two Slim+ buds, Nano, Mini, 3-in-1, C-C, 10000 PD, LC40. Bike has generator lights so the flashlight is backup and off hiking tomorrow so it’s my backup in case I unexpectedly out after dark.
The cooler it gets the lighter is the luggage ironically as you wear your waterproofs and don’t need so much water and down clothing is lighter than wet weather synthetics. UK summer is hot or wet, UK winter are cold or wet, so summer you’re carrying your waterproofs but in winter you’re wearing waterproofs and carrying down.
Out tomorrow with a small daysack, 1L water as about 16C, if it were warmer I’d need 3L water 2Kg heavier and still have to carry cold weather kit incase I get injured or (more probably) encounter someone needing assistance.
Two alcohol products in picture if you look carefully.
Photos of mountains tomorrow with a beer at end of hike.
Thanks for keeping us happy lol
That’s a typical equipment of a real worker,
WOW
I am very rarely jealous of others’ local scenery
Cool. I’ll try to make you more jealous tomorrow and day after. I’m on a well loved train journey on Friday.
Tomorrow I can’t decide if I climb England’s highest mountain or bike around. I’ll decide when I wake and see weather.
I’ll have a beer and post photos tomorrow.
This is a Robinson’s IPA
CLIMB IT! CLIMB IT! CLIMB IT!
Scafell Pike? When you get to the top, you’ll only be 203m lower than me!
I think it’s the highest peak in the middle of this photo at the horizon.
I’ll need hydration and essential electrolytes.
Great pics especially the last one
I got kinda thirsty now lol
More pics from today when get decent network, been no internet for the day in the mountains. The pub WiFi is s.l.o.w.
Two long mountain hiking days done, tomorrow is back to biking, then rest day then biking. Tomorrow’s pics should be good.
I’m a bit knackered.
I sure pub’s make there WiFi slower so you stay longer and drink more!
Well, that’s the excuse I use anyway
How are your legs feeling? Mine would be feeling like spaghetti after hiking so much lol
