Whow : Champagne!
Yes, if you can afford a good one (kidding)
Have you ever tried Cidre (think in UK and Ireland it is called Cider)?
I like!
Why shouldn't we know a little bit more about each other?
cider is very good more of a beer and white wine type of guy
rose champagne my fav
As long as the Champagne isnt dry, I’ll have some. I guess that means I prefer the more fruity kind, because I cannot stand dry Champagne
In France the beer is not quite a stuff for me.
And cidre (cider) is phantastic to accompny a lunch
Baquette, pate, fromage, tapanade…
i agree i like the fruity flavor dry makes me thirsty
There exit different types.
“Sec, semi sec and douce”
BUT not only the Frenchies produce a good champagne.
I am sure in USA the winegrowers create such “sparkling wine” as well.
But they are not allowed to call the champagne.
But I am sure its of high quality as well, may be even better, not such an international BIG “market”.
Years ago I was invited to a vine producer in Portugal who was creating his “espumante”
Fantastic.
Here In Germany the “Sekt” which you can acquire in supermarkets is not such a good stuff. But in special shops you will get extraordinary “Sekt” same quality as champage.
yeah in Britain its called prosecco £10 can buy you a nice bottle!
Prosecco is from “bella Italia”
Beautiful Italy been to Rome?
Claro. “Bellissima Roma”.
very “magnifico”
Woke up early this am, thought to make Banana Nut Bread… Made it good … midweek treat for wifey and kids … Cooking is good
Oh ja. Looks good and must be delicious.
The early, quiet morning is a fantastic time to be creative.
No noise, peace all over the house, the surrounding.
I used to go to work very early too.
Empty subway, only a few people which were knowing each other after a while quite well.
Really funny.
And a quiet office, were I could play my music.
This was really a place to work without any stress.
But now retired at home I installed the same.
Early mornings are best times, get time to think clearly. Also less traffic
and yes, Banana nut bread was good, saw from the smile on kids faces
Nowadays it is really tough to work at office, lot of pings, IMs, calls… nothing gets done
You should teach them very early how to bake such one!
The earlier the better.
I remember how proud my daughter was when she made her first meal autonomously.
I made.my first solo bake cake at 5 years old, in the hotel where my dad was working (long story, and this only a tiny fragment). At 10, I won an award for cooking a full English. Cooking I think is in my DNA.
As for cider, you haven’t tasted anything like farmhouse rough! It’s the greatest tasting cider in the world, it has a bigger kick than retail scrumpy n Natch.
It’s the Somerset version of moonshine! Farmers who grow the apples but brew their own cider. It’s so sweet and potent and goes down your throat soo easily, as easily as apple juice, but gets ya pissed
FYI
why is proper cider cloudy?
Cos it has dead rats n stuff in it… Truth. The potency of the fumes is such that if rats come across a vat, they fall in unconscious.
A man once died inside a vat, and instead of getting him out, which would have involved several firemen in breathing gear trying to get inside the vat, which couldn’t happen, so he was left to become the next cider… Ooops
My hobbies have changed - and expanded - along the years …
Let us begin with music: a little guitar, a bit more drums, and some singing…
…then esoteric studies like Zen, NLP and so on.
…then motor cycling…including the necessary screw driver…
…model railroading not to forget: was the very first hobby - now reloaded …
… scratch building of ship models…
…cooking of course - in general, and now especially: espresso cooking, and of course: modifying the espresso machine …
I hope I didnt forget anything. I am sure I have - but that would fill pages …
Is this a hobby: to spend the afternoon with the friend in the beergarden ?
That is a very good idea @Chiquinho , with summer vacation right around corner, planning some activities for kids, will include this " bake a cake " activity
Well here in England, the go to cake to bake is either a basic Victoria sponge, often made into small fairy cakes (a smaller plainer cupcake), which the kids then decorate, or the infamous rock cake… The simplest n messiest cake. Add all dry ingredients (except dried fruit) add butter and turn into crumbs! Slowly add milk and then add dried fruit. Load 1½ “splodges” on a baking sheet, cook. Place on cooling rack nnsprinkle with sugar.
I like a lot of different things from watching documentaries on YouTube to learning to code to cardistry hiking, fishing, and playing pool with my friends, I also just love sports and magic and puzzles of all sorts
