Why shouldn't we know a little bit more about each other?

When I was young I was playing ice hockey.
But after an awful cross check I got and broke my nose, I gave up.
The doc told me the next break will mutate my beautiful little nose into a boxer’s one.

I used to enjoy normal hockey at school.

As for a broken nose… I’ve had it done so many times, I had to have an operation. Me being me, and as pure example of my bad luck. I had 8 operations on my nose, and still have difficulty with breathing through my nose.

They said on first operation, my nose looked like a corkscrew inside from so many breaks from so many fights … Oops

I have been to the wineries in the pacific northwest (I am a member of some of them) where they dont have to grow the grapes on root stock from other plants. The bacteria that kills roots does not exist there. The wines from this region are excellent and improving every year! Its an exciting time to be there - there are wineries all over the place!

There are many hops that have these special flavors. Simcoe, cascade, and citra are my favorites. My “home” brewery makes a simcoe/cascade “single malt” IPA that is the best IPA I have ever had. Much likw wines that have specific “terroir” for the grapes they get these hops from the same region every year.

We used ti drink these while being active - playing softball, disc golf, rafting, etc, because they were so similar to water :joy: Beer to drink when thirsty! The microbrewery beer was all so heavy it was not suitable for a long day in the sun.

Now the microbreweries have started making “session” ales with lower alcohol but still great flavor. The best come in aluminum bottles that are safe to carry on a river or near a pool, and they can be resealed easily. Now I no longer see cans of coors or budweiser at sporting events. Only these cans of local, delicious, light session ales. Here is a bottle that was hiding in my refrigerator just for this post! It is made for rafting - hence the name “OtterWater”

Here is one I made tonight you will not find in Europe. Collard Greens and Blak Eyed Peas! Traditional in the southern US. Usually served with cornbread but I didnt have time to make that tonight.

I will come and help you eating, accompanied with such a Otterwale.
(4,5% is fine not too strong , I would like to taste this!)

Looks like a type of “Kraut” (not Sauerkraut ).
People in the northern part of Germany call it “Kohl”.
So the Germans are called krauts.

I like this type

In Portugal they have other types called “couve”:

Seems similar to that collard.
The Portuguese are cutting this couve very finely and make a soup
“Caldo verde”

Are these alu bottles returnable?
I am sure about.
Little breweries have to recycle the bottles of course.

Yes! You are always welcome to share meals in my home! Those “Couve” plants are very similar to Collards. They are all part of the cabbage (kraut) family I think. Similar to the Portuguese “green broth” the southern American recipe calls for a meat to thicken the dish - usually a ham, ham hock, or bacon. The black eyed peas originate from Africa, and because very popular in the southern US after independence. taken together, the collard and pea are extremely nutritious. Very very good for the body. I like these “kraut” leaves of all kinds. I grow chard and cabbage in my garden - I have some original recipes I’ll share next time I make them.

Most of the little breweries don’t use small bottles or cans at all. You have to bring your own “growler” - a 1/2 gallon bottle like these hanging in my kitchen:

They cost $7-$9 for a fill (that’s about 5 pints per growler), so they are very inexpensive. Most breweries even give you a beer to drink while you wait for them to fill the growler. Growlers tend to roam around to new homes every so often as you go to friends houses for parties and dinners. This way they get to see many different homes in their lifetimes. And if you ever run out of growlers to fill, it means you have to invite friends over for dinner to get them back!

The little aluminum bottles are simply recycled like a can. It is not wise to take glass bottles on a river or to a sporting event, so these little aluminum bottles are a good substitute. I have also seen people go to breweries to fill all kinds of bottles - from nalgene to milk jugs!

I never mind the costs of food or a excellent beer.
eg. Meanwhile a box with 20 1/2 Liter bottles of a good beer is here about 15 Euro.
But you can have a box with “beer” for about 6 Euro.
But believe me there is NOT only a difference in the price. :confounded:

Seems you live in a kind of beer paradise.
This should be published for propaganda for people visiting your region.
I love the foto of your bottle collection!

I never care about expensive clothes with expensive trademarks, these want affect your body, but bad and cheap food will.

This year we started creating potatoes in our garden.
As there are some areas there is really nothing.
Not that we will starve, but it is great fun to sew somthing growing.
Creating “kraut” is a little bit difficult. A lot of hungry snails.

We have not so much space in our garden in the middle of the city,
Small one, but I have planted
an apple tree, 2 cherry trees and last year a plum tree.
My wife is responsible for the flowers and I care about the vegetables and fruits.

I am just obsessed with new tech, so Anker feels like an amazing home

Only tech?
There must be more.
Really almost all here like tech,
So I was asking if there is anything else which is exiting the active members.
We are talking so often of watts, volts etcetera, so a little insight in other things is relaxing.

Not sure what you do for work (if you work ), but have you ever been to CES?

In my days CEBIT was important.
Don’t know if it is nowadays.

Not sure what CEBIT is, or if it’s even in the US…
