Why shouldn't we know a little bit more about each other?

I love video games, love tech and family. I think I am an undiagnosed ADHD person. I enjoy a lot of games genre. I like to tinker with PCs but have not as my kids have gotten older, Their likes have grown similar to mine thus they are grabbing my stuff as theirs at times. Lol.

Great idea @Chiquinho !

I like to learn new technologies, like 3D printing, Pi programming, and Minecraft Coding. I have two kids, 7 and 10 years old, and they like the same thing! My son loves 3d printing, and even designs little castles and things.

We also like to get outside and play. I have a paddleboard, a kayak, bikes, and skis. In the summer we camp in places where we can paddle in a lake or a river and in the winter we ski. We also love to go to hot springs, especially if they serve beer! There are lots of these around where I live. Itā€™s kind of an adventure to find new ones and visit them. They can sometimes beā€¦uniqueā€¦which of course only adds to the fun.

I also visit microbreweries when I travel. There are many of those around where I live and Iā€™m currently trying to visit all of them, which is difficult because there are so many. Nearly every little town in my state has its own microbrewery.

I work in a college installing A/V in classrooms, running a self-hosted Moodle, and designing curriculum for teachers. I have my Masterā€™s degree in education. I also work for various organizations making online learning material for them. Iā€™ve worked for medical device manufacturers, fishing outfitters, hunting conservation groups, oil companies, and even a US olympic team doing this. All of this I do outside of my regular work time at the college.

I also enjoy making videos, reading, writing, and cooking. I try to make new things people have not thought of before. Most of the time it works out really well.

I like to travel for the same reason! You always ancounter new ingredients and ways of cooking that you have not seen before. It adds to the ā€œspiceā€ of life!

Agree, there are too many stale discussion which no one remembers. Itā€™s always good to close out the old ones ( at least 6-8months) and start fresh new ones

I always welcome threads like these where we can talk about something else than just tech and products

Such as Rubikā€™s cubes! Just curious, who here solves cubes?

  • I solve Rubikā€™s cubes
  • I donā€™t solve Rubikā€™s cubes
  • Cubes are a waste of time
  • Whatā€™s a Rubikā€™s cube?

Thatā€™s interesting.
Many years ago the beer in the USA was like ā€¦
I remember Budweiser, Coors and Colt 45.
You drink one but you have to ā€œsecreteā€ three. :joy:

These micro breweries are great.
Fantastic beer and so many different tastes.
I got a craft here recently, when visiting a hops factory.
This had a special taste because a so called flavour hop was added.
This hop is cultivated in the USA and now reimported to Germany.
Funny indeed.

Cooking:
By doing a lot of travelling in Europe we get in touch with many different ā€œcuisineā€.
More tastes, more ingredients and spices.
When coming home from journeys our luggage is full of foodstuff.

I find it funny with French (and other pretentious) snobs when it comes to ā€œoutsiderā€ wines, when half the stuff grown in France is from America!

When the pilgrims etc went to USA, they took with them vines. When there was a bad virus (or something) destroyed half the vines in France, they went running to USA for vines.

Yet they slate any non French wine!

I watch some of the ā€œborder patrolā€ programs, and laugh at some of the food stuff people have in their suitcases.

Plus all they have to do, is tick a box on paper to say they have food and they wonā€™t get a fine, but they all always lie, despite the suitcase being full of food. lol

But we do export as well.
When driving to the northern part of Germany, I take my ā€œHofbrƤu WeiƟbierā€ with me.
No Pils please.

Would golf not be sport for old man like me?

Noooooooo golf itā€™s not only form old man with money !!!

Try to play golf one time on your lifeā€¦ after that you have two ways: LOVE GOLF or HATE GOLFā€¦

Let me knowsā€¦

My poor old back! To play golf well, needs some training and education by a good coach I suppose.

When I was younger and fitter, I used to like to go to golf ranges.

Iā€™d pay for a basket of balls, and smack the fuck out of them! Turn next day, my back n shoulders would really ache  it was a good laugh with a few friends but my body paid for it hehehehe
