Hey Franz
Today I might try scones. I don’t think they are difficult but have never made them before.
I love warm scones and soft butter

Those are typical with tea in UK.
Are those sweet?
If so, you might not add sugar and these will fit with beer also.

The recipe seems very simple. ( found some)
Too simple for you!

That’s good.
And you can add some spices.
I found a recipe adding some pepper.
You could partitioning the dough and add different spices
eg. caraway
You could do some experiments.
Same dough different spices.

Hehehe -> the old housewives " from UK and DE.
but we have always fun, thats important, not only in those present times!

I’m not afraid of putting “random stuff” in recipes

My problem is Debbie has coeliac and our baking is with gluten free flour. This makes things very light and flakey. To overcome this we use Xanthan gum, but it is black magic, not enough and things are as dry as dust, too much and things are horrible.
Its a fine balance, the recipe information is not always accurate so you done know if you’ve got it right until you start eating.

Here you go matey, you don’t need to use gluten free flour @Shenoy

Oh ja! “gluten free”.
Difficult without normal flour, no “glue”.
So you need to add other things.

I know nothing about.

GOOD LUCK!

So guys.
Slight change of plan, i mentioned cheese scones to Charlie and he wasn’t impressed :flushed:
So after beating him with a Birch branch we went for chocolate chip Rock Cakes.

During, before and after.

Ja a piece of pork.
For me such a small one is enough.
The older I get the less I like meat.

Hey @Shenoy
Get inspired!
Super simple to make and minimal mess.
I replaced the sultanas with chocolate chips.

Raisins often contain sulfur.
Chocolate is better.
But tell Charlie tomorrow we will start baking those with cheese!
