No trips to the flea market this weekend?
Weekend activities! (old thread reanimated)
Despite the blue sky and warm sun we had today, the wind was very cold.
The snow looks good, we havenāt had any snow yet this year.
My friend in Germany (north) says they are on lockdown now.
They will not work or go outdoors for 14 days.
It sounds like it is just in the north for now, has this reached you further to the south yet?
No more flea markets all closed of course.
No concerts, no flea markets, no more opera.
We (Bavaria) have to stay at home too
(Here in the south we have that lockdown since Friday)
Exception: Visiting supermarkets (food etc), pharmacies, physicians,.
All restaurants and other shops closed.
Was good that it was cold outside today, so staying at home was OK.
For me as a retired person its not such a big problem at all.
We have stored food and beverages (beer/wine)
And there are many super markets we can walk to. (Dont have to use sub etc)
(ALDI, EDEKA, REWE LIDL, NORMA)
Left hand neighbor is infected (tested)
But he is OK, no problems at all.
Was like a simple cold, sore throat and coughing, he told me.
Good to know your left neighbour has mild symptoms.
The 2 or 3 (average) he infects may not feel so good.
Keep isolated everyone.
Really, Iām further west than you, it has been gorgeous here all day. Cool but not cold. Went walking, quiet. Saw lots of bad behaviour (rubbing noses, groups congregating) but better every week as we all āget itā.
Hey @professor
Yeah, the wind was really cutting today, I had a fleece and a Goretex shell on walking to Debs parents.
In the sun, out of the wind, it was very warm - a great summer feel.
I thought it may be all over.
Shame about your neighbour, hopefully the virus stays next-door!
I didnt touch him.
Technique to get your voice heard at a safe distance.
Yea even if they were open, I would avoid them
Unfortunately such āleisure activitiesā are not possible at the moment.
(Group > 5 persons)
Weather is fine here.
Sunny about 16C.
What I really admire is how parents with little kids are handling the situation.
Our right hand neighbors : Their kids are 3, 6, and 8 years old.
I know its hard to keep them ātidyā in normal times.
But now?
Normally pensioners are not amused when kids playing and making some noise!.
NOT ME AT ALL!
I was really missing their funny ānoiseā the last days.
Too silent!
Being quarantined hasnāt phased Charlie as much as I thought. Heās and outdoor boy at heart but has been keeping himself amused while in, making the most of the garden and getting out for a walk/bike/scoot for a hour each day.
As for Debs and I, we are climbing the walls
I would love to decorate, but donāt have any paint - considered ordering online but getting the right colour is tricky.
I keep occupied here and buying too many things off Amazon. Debbie is watching box sets on Sky.
Tomorrow we have a walk planned to drop a birthday card to one of Charlieās friends and have an doorstep conversation at distance which will be weird.
Whatever youāre all up to, have fun and stay safe.
I think I will service the lifting pump in the basement tomorrow.
The wastewater from the washing machine has to be lifted to the level of the sewerby that pump.
Not such a nice work!
But has to be done from time to time.
Yes painting would be a good idea, but same here no paint!
Met my left handed neighbor Arnim.
He was tested positive, but he had no real probs, he told me.
A little bit of fever and sore throat.
That was all.
Lucky man!
But he will stay at home, because nobody could tell him if he is still a
a source of infection for others.
Too many uncertainties.
Stay save my friends and lets have our virtual beer together tomorrow!
PROSIT!
Iāve been binge watching a Netflix show called Dark. Once Iām done with it Iāll start one called Westworld
The weather has been good last two weeks but I want a gazebo type in garden to be out in the rain.
Police are finally clamping down on unnecessary travel today. You go out home to food shop in car, or walk or bike for exercise. Key worker. Nothing else. £120 fine 2nd offense
I donāt envy you servicing the pump, but as you say, all these jobs have to be done. And finishing the job will be made easier if a beer is waiting for you.
Arnim has been lucky to have mild symptoms, keep your distance Franz.
Please no rain required thanks @professor
4 people from Debs work weāre stopped Friday travelling for work, they were key workers so no fine, but you are right, the belt is tightening.
Binging through the latest season of Shameless here!
āDochā
Yes, please some rain.
We need here for the plants.
Water is needed!
(And if raining the people stay in their houses, better for them)
