Yes, there is that too!
Weekend activities! (old thread reanimated)
Since I’ve moved to England, there’s a main hub only a couple of miles away so even without prime I was always pretty much getting next day delivery anyway
Exactly, one of the reasons I canceled my prime membership…
Amazon has a close-by warehouse in Tracy, items. Get delivered in 1-2 days without any “Prime membership”
All my shopping on Amazon is now via all my Gift Cards… Still have a hefty chunk …
Finding new ways to use them up… Bought Starbucks cards for friends… No one would say No to good cup of coffee (or latte or whatever coffee stuff)
That right, a nice coffee always goes down well
Hey everybody!
I hope your weekend has been great.
Couple of words and pics from mine.
Saturday we popped into town for a little shopping and a coffee.
The stores were quiet, quite surprisingly, but that was fine by us!
We had a great coffee with cake and saw a street performer we met last year in London.
Today we went to Southwold in Suffolk.
It’s a coastal harbour town.
Its the home of Adnams beer and spirits along with some very rich, and reportedly famous people.
Great pubs owned by Adnams.
A lighthouse.
And some (5 in a row) old canons from the coastal defences.
As we left the sun was low in the sky signalling the weekend drawing to a close.
Wherever you are and whatever you did with your weekend I hope it brought everything you expected.
Seems you are always very busy at the weekends, Paul.
I am lazy here at home, firing my tile stove.
Old bones like to be kept warm.
Thank you for the photos you made.
I like those always a lot!
Greetings to Charlie!
Franz
PS: I like the Adnams Brewery.
Was the beer they are brewing as good as the pub looks?
Two days of great outdoor fun…
Point Reyes, Coastal Beach with Light House
We had been to the Lick astronomical Observatory, very educative, bright sunny day with cool winds.
Hey Franz.
Yes, we keep busy at the weekends.
We have time each day to do schoolwork with Charlie and the rest of the time we go out.
It’s good for him to explore and we like to try and make him sociable.
He pays for things when we visit cafes and pubs and he places food and drink orders, he loves it and so do the staff.
At -7 where you are I think you need to keep that fire stove full of wood and coals, today we hand only 4 degrees and clear sky’s most of the day.
I’m glad you likes the photos!
The Adnams brewery is amazing, a few years ago we went on the brewery tour and beer tasting after.
The pubs are amazing, here is the outside of the pub we were in.
That coastline looks amazing @Shenoy
I have family in California, not sure exactly where. You photos remind me of some of the photos they send me.
Is this local to you?
Thank you @paulstevenewing
Point Reyes is around 100 miles, and so is the Observatory… being holidays, the traffic was not bad for fast trips
Great I am really jealous!
I like the sea and the coast.
Born in the mountains, I don’t like those.
Summer : grey and cold
Winter : white and ice cold.
Indeed.
The holidays always makes travel faster
That’s a pretty fine inn. PROST!
The people in UK keep their habits and customes.
On countryside I suppose, not in the big cities.
Same here.
We found fantastic tiny “Gasthaus” at the end of the world here in Bavaria.
As I speak our local “bavarian slang” perfect, beside “Hochdeutsch” (I had to use in the university) I am always “in the game there”.
Never used the formal “Sie” only “Du”.
You know about the formal “Sie” and the familiar “Du” here, I suppose.
The end of the world, I like it!
I hadn’t heard Sie and Du before but just looked on Google
You see we learn from each other such a lot!
Keeping us close as friends all over the world!
Thats it what we are here for.
I would say to all “Du” here.
A great community with great members, and not always talking “tech”
Genau Paul.
We are much more than “tech freaks”!
