Many years ago in the house my mom still lives in, the back neighbor had a dog…a Russian wolf hound as I recall. One day my mom saw the dog standing and looking at her through the farm fence (not much of a fence really)…she said it looked hungry and sad so she gave it a piece of sandwich meat (likely bologna). I told her not to give it anything but she did anyways because she said it looked so pitiful. From that point on when the dog got hungry, it stood at the fence and barked (barking dogs are not my favorite). It got so bad that my dad finally ended up building a brick wall between our house and the back neighbors house…only to shut up the dog because it was quiet when he couldn’t see through the fence any more. The neighbor was (of course) one of those that never told the dog to shut up.
Weekend activities! (old thread reanimated)
Well its the end of the week so might as well start off a hopefully sunny weekend right
Good job on the project @ktkundy
Seems your projects are doing well.
@ktkundy and @ndalby.
Same here
lThats our living room here.
A lot of space
Today we got a little bit of rain.
Good for my farmer friend’s soil.
We moved today.
Near a city named Guarda,
The village is called Gouveia.
We got a lot of hens and 3 goats, near the house.
The chefa didn’t show up.
That’s more than unpolite.
But I can write a comment…hehe.
Fortunately Roberto a worker was here and we handled all perfectly.
Without speaking the language it would have been a little difficult.
May be this week no more eggs will be found for the " chefa"…
DON’T feed the goats, Franz!
I believe some here would like for you to have this device for the beer club in order to move them a new beer to them when it times for a new beer.
now that sounds like my friends… what else can it move
I have a friend who is trying to build something to mix drinks for people by dispensing certain amounts of different liquids to take human error out of it.
From the result I see it was not a european football game.
How did the game fare? Toronto FC is in my mind the better… Vancouver is ok… lol
Hallo fiends,
what’s going on?
I am back from vacations and those were great as usual.
We had a lot of fun in the pub of our little village, made many friends there.
Donna Lucia and the patrao, and all others there.
The wine was excellent, but much better was the olive oil we got from Donna Maria.
This is one of the best ones I ever got.
Of course “virgine” home -made.
And now its here…hehehe!
Now at home, we miss the silence and the friendliness of the people there in the North of Portugal…
What a difference.
Incredible.
I am sure you know all the Algarve, the tourist place of that country.
BUT I WOULD NEVER GO THERE:
Crowded pubs, streets full of tourists, often drunken, beaches with too many people.
I can not stand this anymore.
Pleased to hear you had a great time Franz.
As great as a holiday is, it’s always nice to be home.
Now it’s time to plan the next break
Oh yes we do Paul.
may be in summer -> Acores Islands and in November Madeira as usual.
But I am sure we will rent the house from Fernando in this little village near Braganca
next years in May again.
But now some repairs have to be made in the house.
Good skilled craftsmen?
Impossible to find them!
Thats true Paul.
But I got my good old connections, so they come when there is a need.
Simple, they get good payment for perfect work.
Sounds like normal everyday life here in Southern California.
I get tired of this as well…my solitude comes from relaxing at home quietly…unless those stupid dogs start their barking again. Then it’s time for ear plugs or earbuds playing something to drown out the din of Fido and friends.
Happy to hear you had a good, peaceful vacation, Franz.
Hope all is well with everyone. I finally graduated so it’s been a crazy couple weeks of finishing stuff up for me. Tried to catch the meteor shower last night but due to clouds only got to see three shooting stars in total.
I graduated from high school in 1980…never attended anything beyond that. I learn and retain more fully when I’m self-taught and through experience. Things were much different back then as far as schooling goes. School is a beginner’s course in life…we never stop learning.
Congrats on your graduating!
Congratulations Kaitlyn.
What is the next you will do?
Keep us informed.
I will be a pensioner for the rest of my life, no change!
Thats so true.
What I really hate, I forget things I have known before.
eg. Phrases in foreign languages.
At the moment I need they are gone.
But after a while I remember.
Could this be Alzinger, oder Alzmeier?
Or how was this disease called?
But I know it was detected by a German neuropathologist in 1906.
Thanks thanks. College is definitely becoming something more and more people seem to be skipping again and I agree some things can be self taught. It is good you know how you learn best.
Currently staying on at my internship while job hunting. I’m still not totally sure what I want to do with my life because according to my advisors I “like too much” I didn’t know being interested in so many different things was considered a bad thing.
