Weekend activities! (old thread reanimated)

Tonight we had our annual visit to see the Taverham Brass Band performing locally.

They didn’t perform last year so good to see them get together this year.
Still sounding great even with minimal opportunities to rehearse.

Front row seats which was nice.

Charlie took his opportunity and pretended to be a conductor, that made the old dears laugh.

Thank you Kaitlyn.
Sometimes I need a little help.:grinning:

No worries. Better to ask and get clarification then going on assuming things that are wrong. That’s what the family on here is for

Hi @professor
I know Brad, I first meet him on a workshop and often bump into him on our trips to the North Norfolk Coast.
He has also captured some spectacular footage of the New Years day fireworks display.

Hope everyone is staying safe. Not sure how the rest of the world is doing but I know the Covid is getting bad again near me. My finals yesterday went well but one was moved to tomorrow due to the teacher and some classmates getting Covid.

Hey Kaitlyn, as safe as we can be. Hopefully you can stay safe too.
Two of our good friends (husband and wife) have it quite bad currently. They are both teachers and think they got it from school. They have 3 kids if their own and are struggling to cope.
Really hard as, quite rightly, our friends group are not able to help due to the risk. Not only the risk of ruining Christmas but also the risk of passing it onto elderly family members over the Christmas period.

And glad your finals went well :+1:t2:

Yeah, it’s been crazy I hope your good friends are alright. My teacher had no symptoms but only got tested because a kid in his class had been in another class with a teacher who ended up having covid so it’s been a not fun game of trying to contact trace. I’m hoping everyone stays safe and yes the big fear for my family is my grandpa more than anything and trying to keep him safe.

Be careful, Kaitlyn!
Stay safe as good you can do.

Stay safe Paul!
We are keeping contacts as low as possible.
For us its easier, no kids at school.
This seems to be a dangerous source!

Today is the 24. of December, so its Christmas.
Hope you all here have a great Christmas eve.
Stay safe and in good health.
That’s the most important thing in those days.
Dont drink to much dont eat too much and keep peace with the family!
I was reading that often “familiy problems” escalate on these days.
I am sure that will not happen in our family here!

I test myself before visiting what I’d deem as a vulnerable person and never got a positive. The stick up nose is quiet unpleasant.

Despite me doing nothing to avoid catching it.

People around me have tested positive but all asymptomatic.

I’m not claiming anything is being exaggerated just it’s hard to reconcile personal observation with what I hear.

I guess I’m lucky. That plus I’ve taken every jab going ASAP.

This doesn’t mean nothing.
Tests and those who interpret these are not 100%
I think those “fast tests” are not secure at all.
“Big business” for the “testers” here.
Too many places here with absolutely doubtful “testers”

Oh yes I know this. Paul.
The parents of one of my countless girlfriends  were divorced.
So we had to visit my mother, her mother and her father.
Always the full Christmas program was real Christ (mess)
A lot of eating, drinking and traveling, but we made it!
And had nothing to prepare.
