Hey everyone.
It’s been a tough 3 day work week for me

Monday we went climbing and bouncing.

And yesterday we went to the Hippodrome Circus for a Halloween performance - simple amazing.

Today is The Norwich Beer Festival, postponed last year for some reason
So it will be good to attend this year and hopefully catch-up with some familiar faces.

Pictures to follow!

Whatever you’re all getting up to, I hope the weekend brings you everything you want.

Woodwork here.
I got a huge pile of old dry wood (floor of an old roof truss)
and many, many battens.
They burn like tinder!

Rain will show up next week so all need to be stored.

Yes, get that wood sorted before it become too wet.
Burning wet wood isn’t good.

Of course not Paul!
I am ready with the wood.
When properly piled the “heap” gets smaller!
All my wood shelters are perfectly filled now.
Winter can come and “Natural gas crisis” too.
Sunny outside so it was great to work.
Rainy weather forecast, so its super the wood is perfectly stowed.

I am meanwhile a specialist in woods.
This one i got donated is spruce.
Burn fast and heavy but starting with it in the morning its the best.
Then I add beech.
Our tile stove is huge, so when its warm it keeps the warmth for a long time.
I bought some chimney sweeper equipment years ago.
So I can clean the chimney by my self.
The chimney sweeper comes once a year, this is not enough.

Enjoy the beer festival.
Go home by taxi!!!

Having a day off house hunting/buying. I’ve spent every day for 6 weeks looking at every house for sale in a 5 mile radius and those acceptable putting in low price offers. Got one accepted and then chasing the mortgage which seems going well. Now in a quiet period waiting for the next steps.

Houses have been selling in 1-4 days so often you’d see a house for sale, phone, to find an offer has been accepted last hours

500 houses across 80 square miles - on a bike.

I’d love it if I had the Soundcore Frames to answer calls while biking, some days I’m on 20 calls just talking with sellers. All I do now is say "on a bike give me a minute…* and find a quiet spot to talk. If I could keep biking while talking, so the microphone can filter out wind and traffic sounds then I’d save time.

Franz and I are dressing up as “old men”…I don’t really need to make much effort coming up with a costume.

Seems you are wearing a special model of the new soundcore frames!

A typical “Steh-Party”
Would never be possible in Bavaria.

But we all know :
“Other countries other customs”.

What a lot of nice little barrels to taste.
You are always on the best places Paul!

Hope you enjoyed it!

PS: I remember my first visit to The UK.
Was very pleased about the different taps in the bars.
So I tasted.
But couldn’t find one for my taste,
The first thing was , I missed the foam.
So I ended with Guinness.

But I am sure I would find tasting ones in our days.
So many small breweries are doing a good job and brewing excellent beer.

We should dress up as “young men”.
This would be sensational! :joy:

Well Franz, I have no complaints. There was over 200 beers to choose from, I didn’t try them all

When was your visit to the UK?
Isn’t it interesting how different beers have different heads (foam).
Yesterday I found some that were super frothy, like soap bubbles while others quite thick like Guinness.

But yes, beer has come a very long way over the last 15-20 years.

It was in 1970 the first and 1977 the second one so far I remember.
First journey I was hitch hiking with a good old friend from our band.
Went to England, Scotland, Wales,l Northern Ireland and Ireland.
(what I never will forget the situation in Norther Ireland those days.)

Second one me, my girlfriend, her sister and her boyfriend.
used an old VW Bully. (More comfortable with and for the ladies)

Now I remember exactly was in August 1977
The news reported Elvis died.
We were sad I suppose the whole world was sad about.

I’m always in for a glass of dancing bubble Guinness… quite tasty.

Not sure how they manage such fine foam, but it’s allllll delicious…

Ah, so the first visit was 5 years before I was born

The beer here has changed a lot since then.
Maybe plan another visit, there are plenty of members here scattered around the UK that can show you the local sights and sample the local beer.
