Weekend activities! (old thread reanimated)

Sad state that these ocean waters are in. The waters are not very clean here to begin with and having an environmental catastrophe such as this is just a further blow.

Last I heard of the supposed cause was that a boat’s or ship’s anchor may have caused the breach (unconfirmed).

We used to fish these waters when I was younger when my Dad had a boat (30 - 40 ft)…just sport fishing and going to Catalina Island and cruising the waters. It was great fun but lots of hard work when we were done…everything needed to be washed (boat, fishing poles, trailer) with soap & water to get rid of the corrosive salt water. That and getting the fish scales off of the fishing poles. and frequently tending to the Teak wood trim on the boat.

But we had great fun!

Hallo guys,
No news here?
All preparing for the “power failure” our @professor announced.
All become real “preppers”?
Saving food, beer and other stuff?

No findings from the markets this weekend.

So what to do?
Working in the garden and preparing “Bratwurst” later.

We’re having an unusually warm October weekend weather, so I’m doing things I’d not normally do this time of year.

This is dog thinking "thanks for the long walk in the warm dry weather, ooh what are we doing now?

This is dog thinking “oh no, I remember this now”.

This is dog thinking “what did I do to deserve THIS”

And now thinking “don’t do that again EVER” in the sun. He’s nearly dry.

That’s great @professor What’s your dogs name?

Stinky. Well was.

Yes we see what the dog is saying:

Though I am “Cleany” now, not “Stinky” anymore.

Having a lazy Sunday in, recharging my batteries for this upcoming week. Gotta drive out of town every single day and gotta attend a training class next weekend :expressionless:

Hope everyone had a nice week and is ready for the weekend!
I’m currently bouncing between school, research and an internship as well as trying to teach myself some cybersecurity (if anyone has tips on books videos or other educational resources or tips I’m gladly open to them). I know it’s October and @TheSnarkyOne probably already has snow but it’s been pretty warm by me still which has been pretty nice, I hope others are enjoying the last few warm days before winter comes.

Also off topic but does anyone know if anything ever happened about the metal water bottle thing that Anker planned as a gift but then seemed to be put on hold when the pandemic first started?

Yep snow already here, and it was melting as the day went along… funny how it was 32F two days ago, and will be in the 70s this weekend…

Just warming up for the Halloween dump o snow… cruel trick…

Not too cold here ca 10C and sunny.
No findings at the flea market.

So I will prepare Bratwurst. (what else…hehehe)
There are so many different types of “Bratwurst” here in Germany.
Pork or beef, fine or coarse or in the middle.
Different spices added. and so on.

But no “Kraut” this time : savoy cabbage.
Other taste than the typical “Sauerkraut”

Famous ones are those from Frankonia and Thuringia.

Hopefully this weekend will be watching Man Utd destroy Liverpool

And can’t forget about the F1.

Need to get some accessories for the new phone - anyone any good suggestions for iPhone max cases etc?

Hey @k_pug2003
Sounds like you have a sport filled weekend!

As for phone cases I swear by Supcase hybrid cases.
Heres one for the new iPhone.
I’ve used them for various phones over the years and currently have one on my Samsung.

Sadly I saw that Bayern lost Davies to injury… so I’m not sure who I’m going for now…

You are a Bayern München fan?
I was in the past times of Beckenbauer, Müller, Breitner, Hoeness.
No I don’t care much about Fußball.
Only business.

Made a nice finding today.
A bracelet from Scholz & Lammel in Schwäbisch Gmünd.
Typical 60-ies style.

Beautiful cloisonne enamel and in a perfect condition.

The second attempt when uploading worked! :grinning:
