Weekend activities! (old thread reanimated)

I never ever ran out of gas in Vermont so didn’t need to carry a gas can. My car always stayed above a quarter tank. I’m just passed because I could have got gas in the morning when I got off work, but I was toothed since I worked an hour longer than usual. Now I’m paying the price, I’m just hoping I can make it the rest of the week with what gas I do have.

We all see here we are depending strongly on electricity.
If there is a power cut, all over.
Same with all computer controlled systems. like that pipeline.

I am always astonished that the most things work.
But we all know here how many problems show up using hard- and software.

In California it was reminded of everyone to keep spare everything.

Yes these hackers for money are quite bad people, but then if anyone asked my professional advice, air-gap and independent computers was always what I recommended. I guess cheap consultants…

@tank on the flip side of hoarding is excess, as the folks who bought early due to FOMO then have fuller tanks than normal so refuel less after.

I’m wondering when the hackers bring Soundcore community down?

Even if there is no more natural gas supply I got wood and my tile stove!
Neanderthal principle!
This year we planted some potatoes!
Back to the roots!
Hackers at soundcore?
What about protector? :joy:

Rob is on about his surprise at not getting gas, I’m on about how I store gas in a can to augment the fuel tank, on long road trips it’s in the trunk but normally stored at home. Smaller plastic or larger metal safe containers.

Hacker’s maximum leverage is slow unnoticed stealth then surprise attack for maximum harm to then extract ransom. The best defence is offense, assume they are doing it anyway all the time and plan. Now in this case it’s looking some bad people seeking money but it’s also assumed to be early steps of a foreign government attack.

Who reports the most spammers here? Spam is to sites which inject bad code in unlatched systems, possibly those of PCs working for fuel line companies? I’m not saying that’s what happened but one method. Just assume the worst and nuke all bad things.

That storm looked menacing!
Glad you stayed safe, shame about the incident with the kid though!
Keeping the rubber between you and the ground is a good idea.

Thanks. It sure feels good to be back

I do a lot of driving for work so finding gas has been quite a challenge in the last few days :grimacing:

“Vatertag” today.
Hollyday here -> Ascension Day"
Normally “fathers” are strolling around with such little carriages
carrying beer and food.
Not this year, too bad.

And this is the end of such a “tour”

I found this :

“1910 rief die US-Amerikanerin Sonora Dodd den Ehrentag ins Leben. Ihr Vater soll nach dem Tod seiner Ehefrau sechs Kinder allein groß gezogen haben. Um ihn dafür zu ehren, solle sie die örtlichen Behörden davon überzeugt haben, jedes Jahr am dritten Sonntag im Juni den Vätern zu gedenken.”

Was new for me!

Oh I’m hearing you Franz, loud and clear.
But don’t worry in this stuff covered.
When the nurse asked which arm I wanted the shot in I replied “left please, I need my right to hold my beer glass”
She laughed, she knows me well :muscle:t2::beer::muscle:t2:
