Weekend activities! (old thread reanimated)

My family used to do dancing like this just not while cutting a tree :joy::joy:

It’s Mothering Sunday in UK.

One of the weirder ones as its illegal to travel or visit Mother unless they in your support bubble (they have been isolating and you bring their shopping). So legally it’s stay near home and visit outside the front door.

Quite a sad story at the moment of a woman walking alone captured and murdered by a policeman, and then a vigil of women in memory broken up by police who then hold down women. Even weirder is you can just get up close in a crowd in a market.

Was very different this same Sunday a year ago, as just about next day to enter lockdown.

Any day now …

Got this yesterday. I’m glad I waited for the right sale. I ended up paying $102 ($85 for watch plus taxes and shipping)

You waited too long or missed the right sale because Samsung was selling those for 45 dollars with trade in and the LTE version for 65 dollars last week

I like the military style.
I was looking for the price here, much more expensive!

For me a watch has only to keep time

I own a real collection of old military watches.
WWII and after WWII
(Bundeswehr ,US-Army, British-Army even one from the afghan air-force )
all mechanical.
Meanwhile really impossible to find those for reasonable prices.
All got so rare

Take a look at amazon.de

WOW! That’s an amazing deal @ikari04warrior was that on Amazon.com?
One of the nicer looking smart watches in my opinion.

Here in the U.K the deals are not quite so good, even thought its currently on offer.

It was from Samsung’s official website. I traded in my Samsung watch (2018) and they gave me $160 credit for it :+1:
It was a much better price than what I paid for my girl’s watch during Christmas

Thats still a big WOW!
The offer here in the U.K. is buy the Active 2or Galaxy Watch 3 and get the Samsung Trio Wireless Charger free.
It’s not a bad deal and the charger is £70-£80. But still not as good as the trade in deal.

Yeah that trade in deal is what convinced me to get the SWatch 3. I hope once the SWatch 4 comes out they offer trade in deals to other countries

I’ve just been reading the rumours and regular tipster Ice Universe predicts the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Active 4 could land Q2 this year, earlier than the usual August Unpacking event.
I’m sure the trade-ins will soon follow.

Yeah I’ve read that as well. Still rocking your S20?

Yes @ikari04warrior
Was tempted with S21 but couldn’t justify the cost as my S20+ is under a year old.
So I spent the cash on the Galaxy Tab S7+ and got rid of the iPad Pro.

Yay!

When my Huawei Mediapad M5 die, as Huawei Android has been effectively killed as a supported platform, I’m also looking at Samsung Tab.

I’m waiting to die:

  • OnePlus 6 , 3 years old
  • Huawei Mediapad M5 8.4 LTE , 2 years old
  • Huawei Mediapad M5 10.8 LTE , 2 years old
  • Lenovo laptop , 7 years old

I have been biking around and visiting folks, and the 10.8 was my laptop / tablet for 2 weeks solid as it fits in the bike bag and is nicely 18W PD.

I’m thinking of going down a portable monitor route and a phone, as a phone + tablets + laptop it is somewhat of a duplication of processing, storage, and ultimately more expensive. The keyboard folio failed on me for the 10.8 so bought another $50.

So I’m thinking of centralising processing and storage into my next phone and a usb-C monitor to which I connect a Raspberry Pi to make a Linux laptop.

When I bought my Mediapad, I was entering a deliberately planned need to travel light, was planning to sell house and tour the world, I succeeded for about 6 months then a certain virus…

Getting Covid vaccine in 2 days, then allow a few weeks for it to kick in… then I’m back out into the world.

My broken leg is very nearly perfect now, while I’d not want to have a broken leg which took 6 months to heal, at least it’s the best time to do it during a lockdown.

All jokes aside, hope your leg is great and doesn’t give you trouble and keep posting pictures :+1:
