Weekend activities! (old thread reanimated)

Yes, we have seemingly had an over abundance of rabbits in the city, so it is of no surprise to me that the coyotes are moving in. They can be quite bold.

When I built my house, and putting the deck header boards up, we could hear the coyotes nearby howling away.

Very surreal.

Never heard a coyote howling!
I hear the domesticated dogs barking nearby in the park.
Poor animals imprisoned in small apartments with their weird masters to care about!

I’ve seen a coyote pull a dead deer run over at road into the trees, it was very strong.

A fox rang past me when I last mountain bikes but obviously no chance of catching on camera unless very lucky.

Was an “old sly fox”!
Would not like to see his photo published here!

Ha! Now they got it!
Of course they didnt ask me; I could have told them !:rofl:

And we can use earbuds and speakers as well.
But this, they didn’t find out! :joy:

Yesterday I had some leisure time (I have always such )
so I stored “Das Boot” on an USB stick and started my Mickey mouse-movie
with the little Astro.
If I use the ZERO for sound its really great.
My wife decided to carry it with us when travelling.
But no more “Uboot-films” then.

I was at the beach this weekend. It was cold and windy but it was nice to get a break from home

I went on the off season so there were not a lot of people. It was more enjoyable than other times when the places are packed with people :+1:

I dont know if the beaches will be full of people in the near future.
I would not visit a crowded beach.

Hmmmm!

I hope you all had a great holiday season. I abruptly ran off due to spending some time in the covid-unit of my local hospital for a little while. I am mostly back to normal, I am very fortunate to have an amazing career with benefits so I was given plenty of time off to fully heal. I have what I hope is my final CT scan on Monday.

GREAT!!!
So good you are back again!
We missed you indeed!

Yikes. Yes plenty of rest.

We’re all threading through the eye of the Covid needle. I have not been ill, but I’ve lived with people who have been, supporting them while also avoiding them.

Great to see you back @rhoffman0528 and glad you’re almost back to full health.

Yesterday two professional tree cutters were here.
They cut two trees, the little one I planned to do by myself and huge one which I never could do.
They climbed around like monkeys.
Did all I told them to do
They cut the trunk in perfect 30cm pieces and made a pile.
Then they tried to repair my old chainsaw by refilling oil and tightened the chain.
But the oil doesnt reach the chain.
I will try to clean the tank with petroleum

And lets see if its work.
No oil, no

But were do you think the “boys” came from?
Germany? NEVER!
They came from Poland and we had so much fun talking about everything.
Of course they got coffee and self made cake and a perfect extra tipp.
Good work has to be always rewarded! :grinning:

Today I chopped the trunk pieces, not difficult being fresh cut.

Old tradition here!
