Anker is the proverbial cat’s meow when it comes to MacOS 11 (Big Sur) compatibility. I have had no issues at all with my PowerExpand 8-in-1 USB C Adapter. When I get home, I pull out my laptop and charger, hook the charger to the hub, and then the hub to my 16" MacBook Pro, and it works wonderfully. It is very nice that there are no drivers to worry about and that hub only uses one port on the computer, which frees the others for different uses. That is especially helpful for the new MacBooks that only have two USB-C ports, because if you are trying to connect to an external monitor that has an active DisplayPort, it has to be connected directly to the computer with a USB-C to DisplayPort cable.
Anker, put this on your feature request list: Make the HDMI port on the PowerExpand 8-in-1 USB C Adapter, and any of your other USB-C products that have HDMI output compatible with an active DisplayPort. Of course, the catch has to be that if the HDMI port on the adapter is compatible, then you have to use an Active HDMI to DisplayPort cable, and those aren’t cheap. However, being able to connect to an Active DisplayPort monitor through an HDMI adapter would make me and several of my clients who are running Anker hubs very happy.
