Editing a PDF is possible, there is no need using Adobe.
Inkscape, Okular or Scribus.
Simple things can be done easily using PDF Arranger.

Correct, loads of free no-ad in Linux, I used LibreOffice Draw.
Haven’t tried, but should work.
