Paper Straws are annoying

Southern California. Most restaurants are converting from plastic to paper straws. These flimsy straws never last a full meal. I visited Costco food court, Burger King, McDonalds just in the last few days, all paper straws.

Oh and McDonald’s paper straws cannot be recycled while their older plastic ones could be recycled (at least the plastic straws in the UK).

I’m all for reducing waste, but can we get a waterproof straw that won’t wilt on me halfway through my meal???

Buy these metal straws and take them with you everywhere you need

Huh, didn’t know paper straws even existed. I’ve heard about metal straws tho

How long do your meals last? My power straws have always lasted a full meal.

Dont ever buy and use a metal straw unless you want to kill or impale yourself. There have been far more accidents with metals straws than any other type.

If at the very least, get yourself some silicone straws as they can’t hurt you if you trip or land on them.

I am unaware of any incidents, may be my ignorance… we have a dozen at home, and using it for last 2 years… all good … of course, we are very careful.

They’re kind of a ‘thing’ now in the usa since dumb people think straws are the problem with plastics despite the fact that you know like literally everything else we use is plastic and that paper straws functionally harm disabled people and have none of the supposed benefits environmentalists think they do but, its an easy ‘win’ for politicians and makes armchair environmentalists feel good at the expense of disabled people

Do a google search, impaled by metal straw…

Here come the real question. Do people get impaled by metal straws because they are dangerous, or because the user is an idiot lol

Well people in general are clumsy and not careful, so I’d rather be safe than sorry

:man_shrugging:. I think silicon straws sound like a good idea, since I hate the feeling of metal on my teeth.

Why are you putting your teeth on the metal? Lips only

Hahahaha. Sometimes my teeth accidentally bump the metal. I don’t just sit there gnawing on the metal

Yes. I end up having to get three straws per slush at Costco. Rather annoying… but it remains to be seen whether it makes a true difference.

I’d only buy Anker straws.
Electric ones would be AWESOME!

You guys scare me :scream:

Most of the results show that same 60 year old lady.

You better drink straight through the glass then no use of straws at all. Do you need one?

I have seen some straw cleaners, need one for my daughters water bottle.

If I had to use metal straws it would at least be the collapsible ones
