New EufyCam - Error When Adding HomeBase

Do a proper restart of the homebase. It may resolve most issues…

@Ice1 is correct. Try doing a full reset of the homebase before moving further.

I have reset the homebase, iPhone, the app and no result. I’m pretty desparate about this. The system was working for three days and suddenly, out of the blue, it is dead. Homebase is offline, has a steady red led and no massage from speaker. That is not very reliable, as far as I am concerned

I had exact same problem (cycling from blinking white to red and back) and I removed the SD card, did a reboot and it fixed the issue. I got the welcome to eufy security message and was able to add the homebase no problem. When adding back the SD card after setup it asked me to reformat so If you have any previous recordings saved you may want to back them up.

Hi everyone. Same case here. However, I fixed it following a very simple instruction. The app asked me an update that took 1.5 hours. Check the picture attached.

After this, I started again the connection between my app and the HomeBase. I followed the same steps mentioned in the manual. Fortunately, it worked. In fact, I connected my cameras just like any YouTube tutorial. It seems that Eufy incorporated the solution within the instructions when you have this issue.

Hope this feedback would be useful despite this conversation started months ago.

Cheers!

I have just received my new homebase 1 with 4 cameras. I already have the app installed with an Indoor Cam pan and tilt connected to it. my new homebase wont connect to the app. I have been through the setup process many times. I have loaded the app onto my wifes phone and can readily install the indoor cam but not the homebase.

Have you tried updating the app?

Although the original poster’s problem has been resolved, I had a similar issue. The Home Base E would not add. The white LED was blinking, never solid light. Tried power cycling Home Base, router, uninstalling and reinstalling app, with no success. This happened when eufy was out of the office for several days. What security company isn’t open every day? This one! When they were back in the office, they were not able to help me, but suggested buying a new Home Base.

I kept troubleshooting on my own. When the error message said the device wasn’t able to add, it also said there was an option to add with the QR code. That didn’t work, but I was able to enter the serial number instead, and it was added.

If you have a Homebase 3 and you are having an issue adding it, I have found a solution. It seems that the app may have issues remaining on the same WiFi as the Homebase is on during the setup process. So what worked for me was to stay on the same WiFi until after the “sync” between the app and the Homebase. Once the sync is done and you hear the message “sync complete” turn off the WiFi on your phone and complete the process using cellular data. When you try to name the device you will get an error that the default SN will be used for the name and just continue the process. You will then see your Homebase has been added and you can rename it later. If you do not turn off WiFi after the sync is complete and continue the process in the app on your phone you will get the same naming error and after the next step that app will crash and the Homebase will not be added. Again, the only solution I found was to turn off WiFi on your phone and continue the process on cellular and it works. Also, I had a problem adding SoloCams to the Homebase when on WiFi, but when I added the SoloCams while my phone was on cellular it worked perfectly. There appears to be some issue with the app and being on WiFi. Of course, Eufy won’t confirm this issue, but it works. So try it on cellular. It worked for me!
