iOS 13 may show that the new iPhone could have USB-C

If you guys have follow the news you might heard that iOS 13 hints the new iPhone could have USB-C.

I wonder if Anker has some insight of this move from Apple. Since they have their USB-C to Lightning cable.

I’m sure if they have any insights they won’t be dropping any hints due to NDA’s

True, I did not think about that.

Only makes sense after the latest iPads went the same route

Saw that myself - would make life easier for everyone but it’s Apple so they’d prob come up with USB-X (x for expensive) lol

This has been debated since the ipads switched to USB-C, it has gone back and forth about if and when they would switch to USB-C. The problem I see is that now apple opened up their MFI USB-C to Lightning cable they would lose more revenue due to not controlling the standard…so if they do switch I think they will try to make some sort of controller so only authorized USB-C cables will work, or to enable fast charge you have to use certified cables

That will make sense, at the same time as a customer I guess I will like to only certified cables to work. Why risk your device with cables that are not authorized… right?

About time apple!

Would be awesome if you could use the same charger for your iPhone, iPad, and Macbook!
I would feel a little scared plugging my phone into a massive charger for a laptop though

Very true, though the details may be true, hands are tied and lips are sealed due to the NDA

Good poll … Lot of members will not be sure if they really need USB-C on iPhone… have a boot load full of Lightening cables at home now :joy:

I guess a better question is would you rather use one type of cable or many

Well… I have Anker fire :fire: power cable… 1 cable — Anker 3-in-1 PowerLine II Cable with Lightening / USB-C Cable.

Plus lot of wireless charging options…

?? Not sure what you mean by this.

My point is is that if you had to choose between using one cable or many I have a feeling that you choose one.

And C to C makes it even better!

It was just an exaggeration  that I had 3-in-1 cable

But I will stick to Lightening cable… just invested in Airpods 2 which has Wireless and Lightening port

Also iPhone X and 8 which use the same charging cable. My opinion ( strictly mine ) is keep the same cable for at least next 2-3 years… And then plan the change… will hate it if Apple does make the change
