Anker Community Profile - Hidden / Open-Public Profile for Auction Events!

So you think we should create new rules (hiding of profiles), that make it easier to cheat, and put more work on our authorities (AnkerOfficial)?

All to protect a fake “bank account”?

This seems logical…

There is no point simply using these cheap words all the time, and I am not interested in these cheap discussions with members interested in such and cannot fall to such low levels as some here. Do not bring these instigating words.

Instead of seeing the solution, members should refrain using cheap, low-blow words, show some ethics.

I have not cheated, and don’t intend to !
Those who cheat & have a ton of burner accounts should know better!!!

Made some recommendations

so let @AnkerOfficial decide.

I will not be commenting any more on this, this is my last comment on this post…

No ones accusing you of cheating. I am in no way worried about you specifically cheating.

There are a lot of people who would cheat, and there needs to be ways to prevent them from cheating.

If they create a special “auction room” as you suggested, I think that would be a great option. (I did recommend it In the past)

Hiding profiles just doesn’t work during auctions

Oh no, @Shenoy your latest post here has turned into a phantom post

You will never stop people cheating or trying to cheat, especially newer members here for freebies or maybe even long standing members who are sour for not winning much.
What you need is a punishment and system in place for when that happens.

There are 867434 users here, as I type, of which 88 visited 2/3rd of the days last quarter.

http://community.anker.com/u?order=days_visited&period=quarterly

So I’d say that is of the order of 0.01% active members.

If you assume only active members have any kind of bucks level to be remotely legitimately able to bid in an auction, you’re going to have < 0.01% of members capable of bidding.

It only takes a small % of the 99.99% to have a bit of fun to cause a moderator nightmare. There are 2 moderators.

However if all the active members can see all those who bid, you increase the policeforce from 2 to 88, of the order of 40 times higher.

I can count on one hand those who can win an auction if they wanted the item, they tended to not burn bucks on Powerdraw.

The bucks are now earned very slowy, skewed to creating threads.

So if you sort by that

http://community.anker.com/u?order=topic_count&period=quarterly

You end up with a prediction of these with most bucks now

Of which 3 are hiding profile.

Here endeth the analysis.

Pretty good analysis I must say

@AnkerOfficial I’m curious as to how your opinion has developed after the further conversation…
