Anker Auction House | Soundcore Flare 2

@professor this will be @AnkerOfficial ‘s next list of rules…to cover all the bases

Even a lawyer could find it hard getting around them

Pretending you don’t know that all bids are final in a live auction is disingenuous. You are playing with words, and we all know you are smarter than that.

You made a fun and friendly competition into an unpleasant community experience.

My position on this is that you won, with a final bid of 6000 PB.

As always, final explanation goes to Anker.

disingenuous:

  1. not candid or sincere, typically by pretending that one knows less about something than one really does.

Guys, i will not engage in this useless, discussions.

I have played within what was the mentioned,

All I see is a group of 3-4 members acting like bullies, using these sarcastic and disingenuous words.

Let @Ankerofficial decide, and provide decision, as what i have been asking from beginning.

This will be my last comment on this post, as I don’t believe this will have any fruitful discussion.

@Shenoy point blank you know you are wrong regardless what the rules state. You know how auctions work and its a given that bids are not and cannot be retracted yet you are trying to skirt around this by blatantly calling everyone else a bully when in fact you are the only person who is in the wrong for retracting your bid.
From an administrative point if view, you messed up just admit to it and move on

Having seen the debate here, I suggest that is the fairest, it applies the rules of auction everyone knows.

I did suggest winning at reduced PBs but having seen that played back at me, I retract that idea as a bad one.

We wait the final judgement.

Hmm… finally got some time to look through this thread. This is not what I expected, but well, what happens, happens.
Three decisions have been made regarding this thread:

  1. To avoid any future confusion, a new rule will be added to all future auctions: Any form (Edit, retraction, deletion and addition etc) of bid change is not allowed.
Once it’s done, it’s done. Any change will be considered a violation of the rule. Users who change their bid will get a mandatory deduction for the initial number they want to change, no matter they are the winner or not.
  2. Since we did not have such a written rule before, we take half the responsibility of current chaos and will take a compromise approach to the problem. All @Shenoy’s bids for this specific auction are invalidated, that also applies to all other users’ bids after @shenoy’s first bid. That means, @jercox will get the Soundcore Flare 2 at the cost of 560 PB (Post #34).
  3. As @jercox won this auction unexpectedly, @jercox has the discretion to decide whether to take the Flare 2.

@jercox Let us know if you still want the Flare 2 with 560 PB cost. If you don’t feel like having it anymore, that’s totally okay too.

I would really start a new auction : 3 days.
So ALL issues and disputes would be solved.
You should really think about.
If so, there is no problem for nobody.
Otherwise some “bitter after taste” will remain for some bidders.

But I am not the one who decides, this is only my humble opinion.

Future auctions will be shorter for sure.

Seconded, while I’m glad @jercox will not have to have a large amount deducted (560PB is a steal by the way) invalidating the auction and re-running in a new format would be the smarter option IMO…

We should start a “democratic” voting lasting for 24hrs.

New auction or not?

The whole thing is not such a important one,
but I have seen that there are some here who are
not “amused” by that auction and the result at all.

I havent taken part so I am neutral.

Cool, you can make a poll for it. If majority feels like needing a new auction, we can start a new one. I guess that’s fairer for other bidders too.

As you have already made a public decision, the poll would kinda be a moot point now…plus if the poll falls on the side of a re-run it is unfair to @jercox again, to be given an offer only to have it revoked…

Seems easier at this point allowing @jercox to decide if he wants the speaker at 560PB and moving on to the next auction (with hopefully a better format and no need for iron clad rules to prevent ‘controversy’ over moral standpoints) IMO

Sorry for not making my post clear.
I can see quite a few more people are interested in Flare 2, so this poll is only going to help decide whether to have a new auction for same item in future while current auction is still valid. We are not revoking the offer for @jercox.

And I was talking to our IT team earlier about building a program page like Testing Club to make auction completely automatic. That’s in our plan of upgrading the community.

You are the “Chefe” and you should start this poll if you want to!
That would be much more official than a member would starting it.

But please dont let all this increase to a “family’s affair”

Well congrats @jercox on an awesome price for the flare 2.

Wow. I would be very pleased to win the flare 2 for 560 PB, many thanks. A bit of Solomonic wisdom and generosity to cut through the murk and give this story a happy ending.

I thought the number was missing a 0 at first, until I saw the reference to post 34.

This was an emotional rollercoaster - excitement, resignation, confusion, irritation, and back to excitement again!

Thanks again @AnkerOfficial. Will PM with my address. Thanks to others for the congrats and support. And I look forward to the poll, it was a great choice of item to auction.

Seems this idea went ahead.

@jercox 560 PBs and the Flare 2, hopefully you happy after the “if not explicitly stated anything goes” interpretation bad episode.

We move forward. I’m not wanting any speakers, so if it’s another Flare 2 I’ll be sitting that one out too.
