Don’t think anybody was.
Anker Auction House | Soundcore Flare 2
I’d like to withdraw my posts which collectively made 910PB higher, so @jercox wins at a cost of 5910 - 910 = 5000 PBs.
Because if we’re able to withdraw bids to not win then…
… let’s all those who want not win all withdraw our bids collectively?
After all, @Shenoy if editing bids and withdrawing is now within the scope of an Auction, if you can do it… others can too? That is unless you’re not wanting rules of auctions to be applied?
Anyone else want to edit and withdraw their bids, so the 5000 PB cost to @jercox is reduced? Shenoy says it’s fine (apparently).
@professor not justifying or clarifying , anything to anyone. I am not answerable to ANYONE except @AnkerOfficial of course!
As mentioned earlier, expecting couple more speakers and didn’t want to hoard more, and I knowingly (I knew there will be a lot these unwanted chatter and cross-talk about what I did) made this.
Followed the rules and there was no mention of not being able to edit / delete the bid.
My bid was the last one and because I changed the bid, it has not Invalidated the auction. There is still the highest bidder.
Again, I did the bid BEFORE the Deadline Oct 7th 11am Pacific, following the rule.
Finally, it is Anker’s decision, I am fine with whatever the decision is. So please let them decide. Let @AnkerOfficial decide and please don’t do / engage in this bully tactics.
We will still have some positives from this.
Wasn’t expecting all the notifications on this one. Figured I would be back just to congratulate @Shenoy or @ndalby or someone who outbid him. I think I made it clear I would not be around to snipe at the end, and this is my first time on since last night…
I moved on from this auction, as @Shenoy outbid me at 6000PB and I chose not to bid again. Thought about it, decided not to. Retroactively editing it to an invalid number after or at the very end of the auction doesn’t make any sense. You can’t bid an auction up to the max the other guy is willing to pay, and then when he declines to outbid you or you get buyers remorse take back only your last bid. That will get you a lifetime ban from a real auction house.
@professor’s point makes it clear how silly this is. If this bid of @Shenoy’s is invalid, then all his bids are invalid, because we have no way of telling which ones he actually meant. So what would be the winning bid for the product? Because a substantial portion of what is left would be me bidding against myself.
If @AnkerOfficial decides I have won, I am willing to pay the PB I bid. But I had already made my peace with not winning and was looking forward to participating the next time around, hopefully with a different auction style. I don’t think withdrawing a bid is a legitimate choice in this context, and I will be a bit irked if that is how it works out.
Can we get a Vickerey auction please? If we all would have silently put in our bids, I might still be the winner, but at the max price someone else was ACTUALLY willing to pay. Or Shenoy might be the winner, at the actual max price I was willing (and able) to pay. Or in that type of auction he could have withdrawn his bid behind the scenes by just contacting the auctioneer, and none of us ever the wiser.
My small little head can’t keep up with all this, I’m going to make an executive decision and send you both a flare 2 and deduct your Pb !!!
Sorry someone else decided unilaterally for you to win after you decided you didn’t want to win.
So we can add this to a next strategy:
- how to make someone else lose the most PBs.
- keep outbidding them until they give up
- then just before the deadline edit to withdraw your last bid so you don’t actually incur the cost.
- only reveal you don’t want the product afterwards and say anyone who smells dodgy is a bully and the decision of the judge is final.
We’ll wait for the admin to decide how many PBs you are deducted. My suggestion is if someone is outbidding you to then withdraw their last bid so you lose the most PBs then all of their bids are invalid and you are charged less PBs.
Right off to get some mouthwash for the bad taste.
Maybe they should just redo the auction lol
There is a lot of work for @AnkerOfficial when they get back with all the things that ended during there holiday.
True, he will probably be like ‘WTF’
Just thought of a fun twist on it jercox gets the speaker for 3000 PB but shenoy loses 3000 as well to fully cover the amount that was set last.
If someone is going to be allowed to take back their winning bid after the fact, I think you have to remove all of their bids, and reduce the numbers by the amount they increased it. As you noted.
But then you have to reduce it again by the amount of bids that are now the same person bidding against themselves - so me, shenoy, then me again you would have to take out the increase from both my second bid and Shenoy’s bid. And that adds up to a lot in this auction.
And at that point, it ends up low enough that several people might have been interested in sniping at the end. So isn’t all that fair to them. Which is all very complicated, and why you generally can’t take back bids.
I would start a new auction -> 3 days.
No withdrawal of bids etc. is allowed.
Otherwise …
All other “solutions” will cause problems and annoyance!
Hugh! Enough said!
I think it needs a do over. And yes, maybe make last 2-3 days
Well said @Chiquinho
The positive i see from this Auction is, New Rule to be added – No edit / deletion / withdrawal of bids and keep it short for 3-7 days.
These short sentences carry much more meaning and sense than the earlier unwanted, useless messages.
Sometimes, things need to get messy, before they are put in order.
Hope these are incorporated!!
However should it really require a rule? I would have thought it was plain straightforward etiquette towards other members
All Is Fair in Love and War, we are having an Auction bid here…
Members are increasing bids, even when they have zero interest in the auction item, just to drain / bleed others Powerbucks… to bring down the highest bidder… This is OK per earlier auction discussions.
Where is the so called “etiquette” when they do this towards other members???
So adding this additional rule makes it clear. What’s wrong with it?
Only if you make up your own rules and share them after.
what other rules you planning on making up and reveal after? Get all your notions out up front so a rule against them all can be written?
I have played within whatever rules were mentioned by @Ankerofficial … I dont need to add any more rules because you have dictated a lot of them already in above posts…
But i have to say, all your posts and negativity and sarcasm and… Whatever else you are posting, are really entertaining
Do keep them coming
