I welcome the innovation from Xiaomi.
Who needs that fast charging? I’m often outside moving for hours, I plug in my Powercore when I stop moving, and rarely get below 50% charged.
A Powercore is more reliable than access to a wall socket.
A Powercore is often smaller than the fast charger.
A Powercore+phone can be charged off a short cable and phone can be used while charging, a fast charger I must carry a long cable or be stuck near wall while charging.
A Powercore is typically £20 so why pay more?
Still not fast enough. 127W or forget it. 
What needs the charging innovation are larger tablets and laptops, having huge power needs these are not cost-effective or portable to use the Powercore method (which is the best idea for phones) and these need to ingest power fast, a full charge in < 1 hour, like you can get now with phones around the 30W level.
