I just purchased a new MacBook and the USB-C to USB-C cord that came with it is only 6ft. I am now on the hunt for 10ft USB-C cord and so I’m patiently waiting for one from Anker because I trust their products and the quality. Anyone else have an opinion on this?
Would anyone else love to see a 10ft USB-C cord come out?

I would love one, but there is a reason they are short. As with most cables, the more complex they are and the higher the current they need, the more likely they are to develop faults at longer lengths. All USB cables have a max length that they will work “every time” at. USB C’s length is shorter than older types of cables, and USB3.1 makes them even shorter.
Information on the standards can be found here - http://www.usb.org/developers/docs/
But it is this bit that is most relevant to length.

Does this mean that the more advanced cables get, the shorter they will have to be?
