Will USB-C to HDMI Adapter work with 7-in-1 USB-C Hub?

Seems like the Adapter will only work when plugged directly into a Mac Book Pro. I tried connecting to the 7-in-1 hub, but it won’t detect the monitor. Is that expected or is there anything I can do to get it to work via the hub? I like having all my cords going in to the hub for easy connection/disconnection of the Mac Book. Am I better off getting the USB-C to HDMI cable instead? Thanks.

Sorry, I forgot to say that this is for a SECOND monitor. I’m already using the HDMI port on the 7-in-1 hub for the first monitor.

My understanding is that this adapter will only pass one single monitor. So to be clear, you have the 7-1 in the PC USB-C port in the Mac. Then on the USB-C port on the 7-1 you are adding a second USB-C to HDMI. I don’t think this will work since it will not pass a the signal of the second monitor. But I do know that the Mac Book will support 2 4K screens or 1 5K. Did you try using the USB-C to HDMI straight in to the second Mac Book USB-C port?

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I had it configured exactly like you said. Plugging the USB-C to HDMI straight in to another USB-C port on the Mac Book works. I was just hoping the Anker could take both monitors, so I could have only one plug to deal with. I travel a lot so I am connecting and disconnecting a lot. Not a big deal to plug/unplug two cables, but I thought getting the 7-1 Hub would eliminate that. Thanks again.
