The last thing I need is a third base station in the house when I have an E-base and a base 2. There seems to be information of amazon selling the battery doorbell end of January but only with another base station. When and where will the Battery doorbell be sold to use with already used systems? Is there a base to use that will operate all the cams and the doorbells. Information lacks on the eufy website
When will you sell the battery operated doorbell without a base so we can use our own basestations?
Hi @Patsarge the battery doorbell could possibly become an add-on part going forward but currently has been designed as an out of the box set for those new to the Eufy security systems, from what I can tell.
I would suggest dropping an email to support@eufylife.com who might be able to confirm if an add-on version only of the battery doorbell is likely to come to market.
That is a slap in the face to those of us that have already invested hundreds of dollars in your equipment. A total lack of support as I for one have already invested about $700 in an incomplete system only to hear promises of new additions such as this and usb storage going forward. You have something for new purchasers but will not support those who have invested in your incomplete systems going forward. I don’t need a promise of maybe nor does anyone else. Your systems need to tie together as a unit. I’m seeing that for my 5 cameras and a doorbell I now need 3 base stations as My e cameras needed one homebase, my cam 2s needed a homebase2 and now I need to purchase a 2nd homebase2 just to add on a battery doorbell that will work on my existing homebase2!
@Patsarge Just so you are aware, I’m a moderator for the community and have no control over Eufy product release decisions or patterns, my observation is based on how releases have panned out to date…
As suggested for a more definite answer you would be best sending an email to support@eufylife.com or use the live chat service on the website.
Or call them (numbers and hours on website).
I understand that you are a moderator and have already written support. The marketing department should have worked it as an addition to systems not as just a start. It is integrated and in most cases a necessity for home security and lots of investors have spent a lot of money in systems that are growing as better security items are available.
What’s one more base station lol
Just another $100 or so and something else to store since you don’t need it if you have a homebase2 already.
I believe, there should be a way to integrate it with your existing homebase or homebase2. I also agree that eufy need to sell 2 versions with and without homebase.
As this variant just released, eufy might be working on releasing another version of it for existing users who has a homebase already.
Only Support team can help with this.
It does integrate with the existing homebase2 but they only sell it as a starter kit with the homebase included. Hey I already have the homebase 2 and a homebase e. I only want to buy the battery doorbell without Purchasing the same homebase 2 that is already owned and bought with my cams. There is no listing for it unless you buy another starter package. The issue is the same as the usb storage they say will come sometime in the future for that homebase 2. Seems to be a promise unfulfilled. It has a USB port that does what?
I see the problem. It’s unfortunate they won’t just sell you the doorbell itself
Their idea is to draw in new customers and not support those of us who have already invested in most of a system. The answer from customer support Reference Ticket#[77608271] was maybe, if things go well, they will sell the battery doorbell as an add-on in the second quarter of this year. I’m scrapping eufy as my house system and will throw what I have down on my shop.
Wow! all because of a doorbell?. everyone needs to just relax all company’s do this looks at Philips even though they have HomeKit you still need there base for them to work… Arlo is just as bad and even for most worse. But I feel your pain and understand.
