What's the perfect monitor size?

What size monitor do you prefer? I think 27" is ideal. Do you see a draw to the ridiculous 38" 21:9 curved LG monitors? Would you enjoy one?

I use the 15.6" monitor on my laptop, then I have a 21.5" or so monitor (it’s so old I don’t even know) that I use as a 2nd display. Not ideal, but I don’t have money to fess up for a nice monitor.

I think quantity is more important than size, at work anyway. I have 3 x 23 inch wide screens. I’m not sure how anyone gets any work done without three monitors

I would have to agree! I have a 2 monitor setup - my 1080p 15.6" laptop display on a stand is my primary one, then I have a 1400x900 (less than ideal but it works) 21.5" dinosaur Dell monitor for my 2nd one

Don’t ask me I just got a 4k TV @43 inches that is now my XBone monitor and 3rd PC monitor. It’s a little big for a monitor but if placed properly will work fine.

I would say it depends on the tasks you complete (or how decent your eyes are :grinning:). I use x2 24" LED monitors at work and have a 27" iMac at home. Prefer the size for viewing multiple windows as I’m normally multitasking…

Yeah depends on what you’re using it for. The big 43" I got is not ideal for writing emails since your neck will get a kink looking up at it. I use it for static windows that stream data, movies, monitoring email then the other ones that are more eye level are more for typing.

Have used a 32" 4K as primary [too tight at native res for me] and a 22" Full HD [not right either…] and have switched this year to 25" WQHD 2560x1440 - and find it to be perfect for side by side work or when singled to one task to be perfect.

Note I tried two and three 19" Full HD monitors for a while too, but didn’t work for my work space too well.

What you do fills to match what is available.

As such there is no perfect size. There is just size, then what you do with it.

42in curved monitor. I absolutely love the $1500 beast in my setup. It’s like triple monitor, but without the borders between monitors

I vote 27, or two 21s, even.

My monitor that I had at home broke, so right now I just use my laptop, the MacBook Pro, which is a 13.3" display. I kind of like this one, but if I were to have a monitor at home, I would want something around 21.5".

I currently have a pair of Samsung 24" monitors in addition to my laptop display. I could see bumping to 27" or maybe 32" but at some point in time you get to where you have to swivel your eyes and/or head so far to see the edges that your running into eye/neck strain issues.

The potential draw of a 38" monitor is for things hung on the wall for monitor or potentially if you wanted to go with a single desktop monitor. The 38" would be roughly equivalent to a 4x19" monitor array.

32 inches is the sweet spot. Any bigger than that and it seems too big.
