What kind of PIN/TAN system?

If using internet banking what do you think about the security of the different
PIN/TAN systems?

eg.
mobile tan, m tan, sms tan;
push tan;
chip tan, e tan, smart tan;
photo tan, QR tan

So many different methods…

I have no idea what you mean. Soz Franz.

I have a banking app, that I use my fingerprint to access. Now appetently I can use tap n hold to quick access certain features … not used yet.

I hate this modern thing if some apps/companies that are forcing you to use “special” characters (@#+ etc) with your password. Everytime I come across them, I have to use.“forgot password” as I never remember them. GGGRRR :face_with_symbols_over_mouth::face_with_symbols_over_mouth::face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

This is possible I know, I forgot to mention.

Most my banking apps allow me to use fingerprint to access, but 1 still requires an actual password and if i sign in from an unknown device it requires two factor authentication. I can either anwer 10 questions if i dont have my phone or i can get a text/phone call for the passcode after verifying who i am.

I mean there are different apps and different systems.
I’m using 4 banks.
N26
Commerzbank
Consors
Sparkasse

N26 uses only your password finger print. That’s why I use lastpass for an 32 digit code.

Commerzbank is a little bit different. If you use it on your phone it works like N26 only difference you have to open a special app. This TAN app has been confirmed with an extra TAN. If you do online banking with your laptop you will get something like an QR code which you have to scan with your App.

Consors uses the normal mobileTAN

Sparkasse is using something similar to Commerzbank.

For me I like the system from Commerzbank best. The best bank for my needs is n26.

As I dont use phone I use that “smart tan system”.

This may seem old styled, but as far I see its pretty safe.
The tan is transmitted by optical signals via screen.
You need a small reader which must be identified by your bank card first.
After holding the reader at the screen the tan is transmitted to the reader and shows up there.
Between the optical signals and the reader there is no “man in the middle” possible.
Seems complicated, but it is safe.
