I can’t find anything that states the differences
What is the difference between the powerport Speed PD 5 and the powerport +5?
Honestly, there probably is no difference. They both have pretty much the same specs, with the only difference that I can find being the outside appearance and the weight- the PowerPort Speed PD 5 is about an ounce heavier than the PowerPort +5. The PowerPort +5 is $49.99 while the PowerPort Speed PD 5 is $52.99.
I would recommend the PowerPort +5 (if you are looking to purchase a charger) because it doesn’t have an annoying blue light on the front of it. Also, you get a more unibody design, which should attract less dust (and feel better in the hand).
The blue light is subtle and not annoying a all, although if you wanted to to could always put a piece of black tape over it
As for the differences between the two, spec wise they see the same but the +5 provides up to 45w via USB c port and the other provides up to 30w. The speed 5 is also newer and more sleeker than the older model and it has more safety features built in. My recommendation would be to go with the newer speed5 version, it is what I use and many others from here use too.
I would like to be able to give you opinion but I do not know about both
