What is one item you have gotten free from Any company that you love

So I was wondering seeing as there are a lot of people in the forum now. What is one item that you have gotten from any company for free that you absolutely love and is now a must have or part of your everyday life?

I will start, for me the 1 product that I have gotten free and is used quite often is my 20k Anker battery pack. I won this and since then I have used it daily. There is no plug on my side of the bed so I use the pack to charge my phone’s when I sleep and I take it with me on the go since it quick charges my phone’s. I have since retired my zero lemon battery in favor of this one for the fast charge.

Prior to this my next favorite would have been the 10Tb ironwolf hard drive that’s sitting in my computer. 1 for it’s speed and 2 for it’s capacity

Your question allows for getting from a company, that implies your employer?

I’d say it was getting a Compaq laptop from my new employer in 1995. To not have to sit at an office desk in an office was a watershed point in my work. So then trains and home and cars and all the other places. The precursor of basically tablets and all modern laptops.

However I think you’re really meaning free non-work items?

Well I was born into a very poor family and that made me qualified to get a free charity access to an outdoors event in 1981 where I was able for free to develop my outdoors skills, that shook me out of urban ways and urban thinking and made me have a more can-do mindset. It was a pair of walking boots given to me for free. I could never have afforded them and I walked and walked and it just opened me up physically and then mentally.

So, basically, free shoes.

Combine these two threads - moving out there freely in a big world with laptops, and having shoes to actually move out there - today combine make me much more than I would have been otherwise. Anker is just a modern version, miniaturized and made much lower cost.

Ah yes, I meant as in from any company work or otherwise such as a manufacturer or even as a gift…essentially it’s free to you.

Love the boot story, and the laptop one. I always had hand me down shoes and boots, when I finally was able to buy a pair or brand new sneakers I ended up opting for cheap sneakers and saving my money. Never had a computer or laptop until I brought 2 at the cost of almost 6 grand, all financed through Dell back in 99/2000 I forget which year exactly. From there my computer prowess just grew

I work at Chic FIl A and get as much free food as I want when i’m on break during a shift.

I work for Anker. When announcing Anker 3.0 upgrade, our company held an event, and every employees got a gift box with a travel pillow and sleeping eyeshade. It’s not very pricing, but it very comfortable for taking a nap during lunch break time.

So that’s what the Facebook post was all about… :joy:

OMG that neck pillow looks so comfy…I’m saying this as I’m currently at work overnight and want to do nothing but go to bed. Soooo sleepy

Last year I got a free tent and a Stanley stainless steel water bottle from a contest I entered which came in handy cause I went camping a few weeks later I just bought fishing poles and a sleeping bag which saved me a bunch of :moneybag::moneybag::moneybag:

My best useful prize was the Nest Learning Thermostat. I won that last your on Maplin’s Facebook page. It was the first piece on smart tech I had for my Home. Followed quickly but a Hue Starter Kit and Strip Light. Both are amazing and used daily.

My biggest win was a 4 night stay at the Regal Airport Hotel in Hong Kong. Won it on a Business Traveller site. I didn’t realise when entering that flights weren’t included. Was gutted. So ended up not using is.

And even yesterday I won a Verbatim 1tb portable USB Hard Drive

I do love a competition and even my girls love them too now. If they see a chocolate wrapper with win on it I’ve got to enter it for them lol

Love it, I won a full writing scholarship as well as one to Wentworth institute of technology, but my dumbself didn’t take either one of them. Ever since then and just get my poems published and learn tech on my own

That’s a shame.

Maybe you could create an Anker/Community inspired poem for us all.

I’m sure @AnkerOfficial would love that too

A few years ago, an outdoor company sent me a backpack for review. I loved it because it had a million pockets (slight exaggeration). I don’t believe the company is around any longer, but the backpack is my daily driver for my work stuff and has held up much better than most of the backpacks I had while in school!

You just reminded me about the 5:11 back pack I won from Polimill. Seriously awesome and around £100 to buy. I use it for me security work :+1:t2:

That looks so comfy!! Is it memory foam? Can one of those go up on the power user page :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Yeah the food is pretty good.

Think this is a the first time I’ve seen a company giving staff an incentive to be sleeping on the job

Think the main one which stick’s out for me would be a vinyl turntable with MP3 and Bluetooth which was given to me by a company on Amazon around 2 years ago. I’d just started on the Anker Power User program and only had a few reviews to my name but I was sent an email offering to review, my jaw dropped when I saw the £100 price tag it normally carried :open_mouth:

Ironical as I’d just picked up a vinyl record (Miles Davis A Kind Of Blue) on the off chance a few days before with the intention of getting a player after my summer hols…still gets use a couple of times a week and has allow me to breathe some life into my parents old collection :ok_hand:

The best free thing I ever got would have to be an upgrade to Club World/Business Class on a flight home from the US to the UK. Well and truly showed how the other half live and I got the best sleep I have ever had on a plane due to the lay flat seats.
