What have you built or put together recently?

Last April I took my computer out of commission because it was driving the electric bill through the roof, it was massively overclocked and watercooled. Just this past week I received 2 packages unexpectedly from Newegg. 1 was a new computer case and the other an AIO watercooling loop. And since mine was all custom before I decided to tear it all apart and start over with new components. I reused my old Asrock X58 extreme motherboard, new G.Skill 6Gb ram 3200, and my trusty old Nvidia Gtx470… I had a new power supply but it’s for a sfx chassis, or small form factor so I had to reuse my old one as my gaming power supply is being rmaed.

Anyway thought I would share it with you guys and see what have y’all built or put together recently.
New AIO loop:

New Case:

Inside of case bare:

Progress, motherboard mounted as is aio and power supply, working on cable management now…still in progress on inside of the case. New photos will be uploaded when I finish. Still need to source a new radiator for my graphics card or find its original fan shroud since it currently has a waterblock on it but nothing else. Like I said work in progress

I’m going opposite direction

I do know what you’re doing, I have done the same in the past but I love outdoors and movement and a tower is so “indoors”.

Electricity cost isn’t the problem.

Yeah computer building isn’t quite my thing. I do find success in putting lines together to create stuff like this.

I also put two pieces of wood together to make a cross for a wedding.

We have the rasberry Pi 3 and me and my son are working in a portable computer of sorts with its own screen. We did manage to make a working cell phone, but that lasted all of 10 minutes when it slipped and broke the cellular bread board. Gonna try a few things for when we are out and about

Recently a fireplace for a neighbor. The most difficult part is looking at the pictures and translating what goes where.

On a side note, Anker has cords and chargers that are better than OEM. I saw that someone had an adapter on a Eufy lamp for devices that doesn’t use a USB port. It would be nice to have power cords that last (laptop ect) and maybe a USB port on an extension cord.

The last thing I built was an ikea cabinet at a friends house. Tech wise it’s been a couple of years since I rebuilt my pc - to be honest I haven’t switched it on in about a year and would hate to see how many updates I have :scream::joy:

I’d update just for the spectre and meltdown updates…

Does Ikea furniture counts? I’ve been assembling a baby room for the last weeks… :smirk:

But I would really like to get into the Rapsberry Pi DIY. Maybe in a few years.

HAHA. Good one

Its been a while since I built a PC, probably need to start thinking about a new one. I work in electronics (i.e. reason I’m too lazy for my next pc haha) and recently built a custom dual 5V supply box for a job. It got me thinking, would like to make a sealed outdoor extension box with USB charging plugs. Wonder if anker would ever get into the AC receptacle game with a pair of USB plugs built it. Could definitely put that product to some good use.
