Weekend activities! (old thread reanimated)

Today will be the next step in the Knödel adventure.
Cooking and eating (roasted pork and aspargus)

Do you eat aspargus in UK?

There are two sorts the green and the white one.
Enjoy your bike ride ( No flat tire!!! )

Asparagus is popular here.
Especially in this area, we have lots of local farmers producing this.
It’s asparagus season right now. Unfortunately I doubt much is being sold.

You dont like?
You should not to boil it a pot.
Put in alu foil - > oven (Much better, less lost of taste as when cooked in water)

Its one of those things i can take or leave.
Debs sometimes cook it. Bit of butter, foils wrapped and cook in the oven.

We are about to hit the track, not sure how far we are looking to bike. With Charlie’s little legs we can’t go to far or too fast.

Oh same recipe!
It was new for me there are asparagus farmers in UK.
(green or white?)
We learn here every day.
The only thing we never touch is the usual Bechamel sauce, often added here.
Enjoy your trip!

The ladies will go for a walk, I the poor, old slave have to care about the roasted pork!

These are good points, and I always thought Asparagus tasted… May be will use this technique and see how it tastes :+1:

Taste more intensive and much easier to prepare.
Nothing gets lost in the water.
The green we fry in a pan, but slow! (Olive oil ( should not get too hot))

Saturday!
But meanwhile the days are all the same.
Not boring, I always find something to do.

The lockdown will be a little bit “loosened” next week.
Kids can go to to school and some kindergarten will be opened again.
But lets see what will happen after.

I would like to send you all here some floral greetings from our tiny garden.

Hey @Chiquinho
Indeed, there’s always something to do if you want to stay busy!
Nice flowers, we only grow weeds in our garden!

If I would be the chef of the garden I would grow potatoes only.

But I am a simple slave only, have to do low-level works:
Cutting branches, digging holes and cleaning the paving stones.

By the way there are only 3 apples coming this year!

I should ask for financial support from EU or government.
Last year we got 13 in autumn.
This year I am sure those 3 will be fall down pretty soon :
crisis

looks perfect.

I am not such a skilled BBQ-er.

But we got a new neigbor in one of the right sided houses:
Jeff from Arizona and his familiy.
He seems to be a BBQ-er as the fellows from USA usual are.

Great guy, not only because he is working as a technical assistant and supporter for MS.

So : Whenever I would have questions about MS I could ask him.
But I dont use MS and he doesn’t use LINUX!:rofl:

I find BBQ quite good, my advice is lots of coals and don’t start cooker too soon - no one likes meat burnt in the outside and raw in the middle :sunglasses:

I remember we bbq-ed a who big pig when I was a student.
Using a spit like in the middle age.
Not easy to prepare indeed.

But it didn’t end in a disaster, or better to say, no one remembered. how this party ended!

Now that IS a great BBQ.
We are now onto the bananas and marshmallows, Charlie’s favourite.

Oh, and yesterday @Chiquinho we did more baking.
Simple chocolate cake, decorated by Charlie with Nutella and every type of sprinkle we could find in the cupboards.
Charlie says, before you ask, he will not share this one with you Franz

Ordered more bananas Paul?

But try grilled bananas with ice cream and a little bit of chocolate syrup on top.

May be Charlie should think about sharing.
