Weekend activities! (old thread reanimated)

Seems the regulars table is growing slowly.
I am missing @gAnkster, but the US-boys are behind regarding local time.!
He will join later I am sure.
Second round! :joy:

I like Weißbier and Dunkles.
So this is a perfect combination.

Weißbier : mostly Erdinger, Franziskaner or Paulaner are exported.
Not this one.
Hofbräu is a quite small brewery, but with well known name all over the world.

@chiquinho Now I am tempted to start my Saturday with a beer! Is 10:45 am too early?

Ohoho!

The early bird catches the worm! …hehehe
You will open one of your special bottles?
Prost!

Hmm…Special bottles…

I may need to open one of the aged brewer’s reserves I have in the basement. Every year around Christmas my brewery offers a limited batch of a special beer meant to age for a few years to reach perfection. I have collected some of these in my cellar. Now may be the time to open one…

Also, the brewery put out a call for everyone to send in bottles they are not using since the demand for these bottles has increased. I answered heroically

Oho.
Hope the basement is secured by an EUFY system!
Otherwise burglars…hehehe!

Be careful about time of storing.
Depends on alcoholic strength.
Do you know about it?
if these are all from last Christmas it should be perfect.

If you start emptying now… The quarantine will take longer. :joy:

I do know about this. The brewer gave me different peak times for each one he made. I usually buy 4 bottles of the reserve and drink 3 of them around the peak date, then I keep one for longer. Some of these are now too old - they are part of a collection for show only.

Wise!
“beer prepper”…hehe!

My Weißbier has a “best use before” 14.02.2021.
But it should be good if stored in a cool and dark place (like your bottles) minimum : summer 2021.
But I am sure it will NEVER get so old!

It doesn’t matter.
Our regulars table is open for everybody.
You are welcome, take a seat.

Good Morning!
If you like cup, take one.
Take a look at my “home brewery”

Modern coffee machines need a lot of maintenance and show issues a lot.
And those capsula often used are really not eco-friendly.

This way preparing coffee comes more and more in fashion.
The filter insert is normal paper.
Simple and perfect.

I am starting the day with coffee, a pill and Johann Sebastian Bach!

Painting went on until 10.30pm last night, lots of corners and edges to paint around in a kitchen :man_facepalming:t2:.

Today i will take a break from painting (until tonight) to do some gardening and prepare for a BBQ.

@Chiquinho i think i need one of your coffees to keep me going.

My pot is empty now.
But I will make a new one for you Paul!

Will start to paint the windowsills tomorrow.

“men at work”

Neighbors in front built up a tent in their garden.
They need camping neighbor Klaus told me.

Though about 0C in the night all was fine he said.
Good sleeping bags of course.

Funny!

You got enough stuff for BBQ?

I will prepare a ragout from lamb and goatmeat kid.
Not usual here in Germany to eat such things usual

Normal pork?
But what kind of ->
1kg for 3 Euros?
Such as a special offer, usual in the supermarkets.
This meat is full of medicaments?
We dont touch this.

Its much more important what you eat than the clothes you wear.
This must be told to the kids as well.
To avoid any “trademark madness” of those young people.
Wearing 150 Euro lousy, plastic shoes from an “important, holy” trademark.,
but eating junk food, because they dont know and can not afford better food.

I am not such a real “German” ,
More Austrian with ancestors from the “ancient huge Austrian
empire”
There must be roots in Romania, Bulgaria regarding my special gusto…hehehe!

A “gypsy from the south”!

I see some Bratwurst!
I know the UK wurst is different!
Remeber those strange ones from breakfast…heheh!
Seems more bread than meat!
But it was so long ago I was there 40 years now!

I am really not such a perfect BBQ-er.
So I like if others do!

I’ll take part! (Virtual as usual)!
Good appetite!
And let me send some spring greetings to you as well
The photo is taken from our little tree (japanese quince)
Fruits in autumn -> jelly and chutney (would fit with your BBQ)

Listening to Glenn Miller now.
I like that kind of music!
