Weekend activities! (old thread reanimated)

Yes it’s been global news.

I was in California when fires causing such bad air it was INDOORS making me cough and wearing a mask to try to keep well.

I’m very active, keep my rest pulse around 42 and I can breathe little when still but I dread to think the implications to those who need a good lungful.

UK is having a brief 30C weekend so I’ve done all the outside moving tasks ready for a dull weekend indoors.

Though dont know much about such things,
I bought such a holster yesterday.

I could not find that model ts made for (PM 34)
The holster is pretty small.
(Not for such usual huge colts )

.

This is the backside :

A weekend’s worth of back breaking labor but the most surprising thing (besides the 5,000+ lbs of broken concrete, steps and bricks I found underneath) was my Liberty Air 2’s lasting the entire demo process.

Seems, has been a lot of work.
With those “found bricks” you can do a new construction.

You were using a hammer drill.
Mostly used here is HILTI.
When talking about such a “Bohrhammer” we usually say HILTI.
A normal synonyme here.

You have to show us, when your reconstruction is finished.

No more activities?
Seems I am the only one who is active.
But not much at the moment.

Its ca 33C.
I know that’s not so much.
But believe me, the older one gets the more one suffers from those high temperatures.
We were talking about coolers.
I know a good cooler:
Bathing feet in a tub.

Others are still here dont worry its not just you!
Been a pretty busy weekend here by me everyone has been waiting for rain that hasn’t come. Finally started pouring before but didn’t last long. It has been pretty hot here as well hope you’re finding ways to stay cool

Of course we are collecting water in some rainbarrels.
My neighbour and I run a ḱind of a joined venture.
He owns a big barrel, but his garden is verysmall
So I can take water if I need from him.

I bought a little pump which I can connect to a drill.
So we can install a pipeline if there is a need.

Nobody will blow up this.

I keep telling myself every spring that I need to put up some gutters on my shed and start collecting water for my (very small) garden.

I am planning on running a new rain barrel on my patio (once it is finished) because of a downspout that no longer makes sense the way it is. Was considering doing a French drain, but I could definitely use the water for the new trees going in.

Now I know what a french drain is.

Went car camping over the weekend and could not for the life of me find my normal battery powered airpump. Was able to make it work with the 521 & a wired airpump to inflate my sleeping pad. Sure beats sleeping on the ground. AirPump

Or better :

I would not recommend this method here with temperatures about 34C

Yeah, that is always an option  I try to avoid using my breath whenever possible though. The moisture/bacteria can breakdown the seams and liners within the pad themselves over time.

I found that funny method using a garbage bag!

Anyone going to see any movies this weekend? I can’t remember a time since “the 2020 event” that there was this many huge movies in theaters in the US in the same weekend.

All movies I like I have seen.
I am not a fan of those “new” action films.
I can suggest some old movies, but I am not sure you would like these :grinning:

I like old movies plenty. I’m actually working through AFI’s top 100; I’m about 40 movies in.

This is not a bad list.
But some films are missing.
This is always the problem with the “best of”.
Everyone has his own list.

Much better than any films are books.
All famous ones available on those “readers”.
Many “classics” for free.

Otherwise one will find all those on paper for nothing at the flea markets,

And we have a lot of spots here in München where one can take books for free
Taking and donating of course.
Perfect!
