Weekend activities! (old thread reanimated)

Hey Franz, we hope you are well?
Yes, autumn is here. I like autumn mornings with dew in the grass and a slight nip in the air.
The mornings get lighter later and evenings are darker earlier, makes it harder leaving the house at 5.30am for work.
Not much planned now for the rest of the year, we had 2 holidays over the summer.

Any more holidays planned for you and Mrs Franz?

Great to hear from you Paul.
Never forget Paul : the early bird catches the worm!
I remember I was always taking the FIRST sub to the university.
Being quasi a part of the “cleaning stuff”

But so quiet in the office, so all work could be done without any disturbing from students and colleagues.

Think we will take a short vacation in November (Madeira as usual)

Greetings to all of my UK-family and of course a special hug for Charlie
(Got now a namesake Charlie III )

And that’s why I love an early start.
I get more work done between 6-8am than I do during the rest of the day!

November will soon be here and you can enjoy some “winter sun” :sunny:

Charlie is please he share his name (almost) with the new king :crown:
Greetings to you all.

Here we have the perfect outfit #

ostfriesennerz

The raincoat is called “Ostfriesennerz” here.
“mink coat for people from East Frisia”

But remember all has to be yellow.
Otherwise its not stylish.

I made the move to sandals nearly 20 years ago. If it’s not cold then who cares if wet.

It’s been an unusually hot northern hemisphere so the oceans will have evaporated a lot of water, all over our heads nicely waiting for the slightest reason to come back down.

Wet winter coming.

I add waterproof socks for the cold, so “figure hugging” wellies.

It’s worthwhile delaying moving from just barefoot in sandals as long as you can tolerate the cold to encourage blood vessels to develop, most Caucasians have a genetic modification to handle cold but it needs cold genes to be activated. If you do succeed in activating cold feet genes it helps through the following winter. Then in the following summer you can cool faster via your feet.

Basically we are suppressing the humans equivalent of elephants ears by wearing shoes.

Hmm interesting I didn’t know that wearing shoes wasn’t the best thing for us. Good to know thanks for sharing that

I think today is the day I finally go threw the drawer that has a lot of my Anker boxes in it and get rid of basically all of them. Should be exciting

I have done the deboxing a while back. I have 3 boxes. 1 for ASTRO as it has good protection, 2 soundcore earbud boxes for ear tips n wings.

I have some boxes.
I keep these if I still have the device.
If I donate devides, I add the box of course.
Looks much more serious!

I still have my old rubber boots, which I bought on a trip in Ireland 45 years ago.
Need them when cleaning the paving tiles around the house with a high pressure washer.
But these are simply black.

I used to do this for a while and then realized I have boxes that are taking up way more space than the devices are and when I gift some away people then throw out the box that I worked hard to save :joy:

That’s possible, but not your fault.

Regarding watches to keep their boxes and papers is a MUST.
Huge difference in selling price with or without the original box.
Even boxes for old vintage watches are very good to sell even without the watch (eg. Rolex, Omega etc)

Agreed certain things I keep the boxes for like some earbuds and watch boxes and some for jewelry but for charging bricks and some power banks and lots of cables I realized the box especially for the cables is often quickly thrown out

Hey Franz @Chiquinho
The weather is certainly changing.
Getting cooler here over the weekend but warming up to 18/19 later in the week.
I tell Debs to buy a jumper instead of turning the heating on

The Oktoberfest ends now.
Will tell you something about a special price published by local media :

1/2 roasted duck (of course BIO, what else  ) 53 Euro.
Knödel (7,20) and Kraut (7,20)
Take a look at the bill.

https://www.tz.de/muenchen/wiesn/news-oktoberfest-2022-muenchen-wiesn-ammer-entenbraterei-rechnung-facebook-91818585.html

The next step will be offering a totally “vegan” duck from the 3-D-Printer.

I visited the Oktoberfest 40 years ago.
Let those do who like to have fun there and have the money to spend for that fun

No more weekend activities from others?
I am sure we few here will not end up in discussions and disputes like the others are doing at ssoundore’s forum.
It seems that soundcore’s forum is changing to a stage for two or three solo entertainers.
The only thing they want are free supporters if there are issues from users.
May be some get paid for that, I don’t know,
The only thing I know that some has left the place and the number of really regulars is shrinking.

Maybe we should dig the grave more deep, so there is place for both forums.
The company is concentration on unsocial media more and more,
so those old styled forums are not “en voque” anymore.

BUT as long the place is existing we stay, whatever it takes!

Autumn is now here and I have started to burn my highly valuable wood.
When I bought some beechwood in spring it was the 1/2 price it would cost now.
Same with fuel oil, natural gas is much even more,
They tell us the only reason is the russian/ukrainian war.
Not true at all, we all know.

But the beer price is quite stable.
ca 12/13 Euros for a box with 20 1/2 liter bottles.
Its said now there will be a lack of carbonic acid soon.
No carbonic acid no beer.
So we need Schnaps to get through the winter,

The Germans have been to “to freeze for peace” by a “
” (censored) politician.
I am sure this fellow will never freeze his butt off.
