Lifeboat crew taking it easy winching back in.
Weekend activities! (old thread reanimated)
Paul, you need a new keyboard…hehe
I love the fotos from the shore.
Its funny.
People from the seaside love mountains, those from mountains love the sea.
Claro!
One grows up in that mountains, so he sees always that scenery.
This is taken from the place I was born.
Looks great in summer, but…
My typing is similarly bad with cold or wet fingers on phone outdoors.
There’s another 70mph wind storm passing overhead now so I’m in house. I think I’ll write some tips and tricks for the youngsters of how to handle power outages.
Yes do that!
I am an old Neanderthaler so I know most of the tricks.
The only trick I havent found yet is how to reanimate that old laptop.
Its a hardware fault.
So I am out of the game.
But on the other hand I will try to get my hand on another antiquity
not used by WINDOOFS users anymore.
Thats so great we can do that.
Be careful and keep your butts safe!
The few family members left here, have to care for each other as much as we can.
This next storm peaks 4am hopefully I’m not woken with a smashed window. I’m looking around for anything which can be debris to take in from garden.
Of course you will get everything fixed around the house.
But we are sly, so we know what can an must be be done.
I don’t know where you live.
Paul’s home is located near Cromer we all know.
Normally those storms are from the West.
Please keep your house stable and perfect for your level up party!
Well this next one is coming squarely at me. I did pick the house with the weather in mind. I have short buildings to my south to get the sun and taller buildings same height as mine to west, north, east to protect my property from wind.
Just got back in from garden and moved a few things from the windward side of house to downwind from house.
And this last year I bought 2 houses, family member lives in another with 2 spare rooms, we have spare rooms here and lots of insurance.
Fortunately no need to recharge all my Powercore as they were charged for Wednesday’s storm Dudley, and still ready for Friday’s storm Eunice. Now still charged for storm Franklin.
Frequent storms are not so bad as you learn from each.
Keep all things perfect for the level up party!
We are all humble so there is no party service needed.
Some fine UK beers will be fine.
Paul will help to find out the best ones…
And may be Neil would like some wine or Whisky.
I’ll attach a bottle to a balloon at 4am, Paul should have it about … 6.30am.
Let Charlie know!
He will catch that balloon and the bottle, but please add some chocolate for him.
We all know our little Charlie he likes sweets, though he is perfect condition.!
Evening Franz
As @professor says, the cold and wet took over slightly unfortunately.
But we had a brilliant day, great food, good coffee and fun as always.
Thats exactly right Franz, we love getting in the hills.
Derbyshire is a regular destination of ours. This summer we will head to Yorkshire for a week.
Yes @professor
The wind picked up slightly along with a heavy downpour.
Now its just raining with, according to BBC Weather, winds in the high 40s.
Tomorrow, seemingly tropical in comparison.
Hope thing are OK with you and fixture and fittings are safe and secure.
Packed an overnight wet cold weather bag (wool baselayer, synthetic insulated top+trousers, Powercore 20000, Nano 20W, Bolder LC40), and have detached garage on north side and car on the south side, no trees anywhere near and the nearest house source of debris about 100ft away.
If turns out my house is ruined, we have 4 other houses we can sleep in 2 miles, 5 miles, 7 miles and 40 miles away. Or if anyone else has a bad night, and we’re ok, we can put up about 5 people easily.
I did pack an iPhone lightning cable for the Victorians with their iphones. USB-C everything for me here in the 21st century.
I think I’ve thought of everything. Well if not, consider it a learning opportunity.
It was actually pretty nice today but yesterday was crazy wins up to 55mph and had a snow squall looks like the snow was falling upwards and sideways at times it was rash
If there is no more natural gas for heating available here in Germany,
I have a lot of wood stored.
So we can use our stove and can change the living into a “small apartment”.
And @professor is a specialist for winter clothing, so we can use his advice.
Shall I hang up a photo of “Tzarewitsch” in the living and cool some bottles of vodka for welcome?
Only 6 weeks more of winter, then you and neighbours can stop keeping each other warm.
Source?
The official flag has no coat of arms just blue and yellow, the coat of arms is central is unofficial. The one I used is the flag of the president.
Meanwhile, we have upgraded the equipment a little.
