Weekend activities! (old thread reanimated)

I’d quite a like to be positive, so I can have my time of being cared for.

But unfortunately, 2 years of being regularly tested, and daily the last 6 weeks, my wish has not been met.

The last person who was positive, who I did their shopping and dropped off their food, I did wonder why they needed fresh fried chicken and fries.

I’m wondering if I’m being a free Ubereats alternative mug.

We’re all different.

You should’ve been a doctor lol

With my past testing average (x3 times a week, nose/throat or nose kits and working onsite through each lockdown period), I will probably get my first and only positive (false or true) when they remove the isolation requirements

Meanwhile I dont read such “news” about Covid anymore.
You know the more “news” show up the more senseless these are.
We are tough and we will “survive”!

I am sure you are fine, Neil.
Take a glass of your preferred whisky and Prost.

Greetings from München to ?.
Franz

I am not a physician I am a Neanderthaler, thats better!

Well, this weekend will be messing around with some DIY (fixing up my Uncle’s kitchen, one wall re-plastered, now down to the sanding of the rest of the walls) while testing out a new DAB radio speaker…don’t stone me but slightly gone to the dark side…

…well kind of

Got an invitation to the Vine testing program on Amazon :fist:

Whow!
Much more interesting than testing powerbanks I suppose.

Hey Franz
Unfortunatly this advice did not work.
Wednesday i became positive.
Thursday Debs became positive and Charlie became negative.
Charlie was super pleased to go to school yesterday as it was his last day of term.

I am still off work until i have two negative results one day apart. Im guessing i will gp back later this week.

We both feel great, mild cold symptoms, so i have been doing lots of jobs ariumd the house in the downtime.

Good to hear.
Those mild symptoms are normally meanwhile I have heard.
After that “episode” you all are immune so far, I suppose.

Have been to the flea market today and got a nice cat:

Its from the local Nymphenburg manufacture here in München.
Nice piece, but not a keeper for me.
Will be sold.

Weather is sunny here but only ca 3C.
So no real desire to do some works outside.
But tomorrow I will clean a lifting pump in the basement.
Not such a “nice work” at all.

All the best for my family in the UK

Franz

Nice peice Franz. Reminds me of the things my nan used to have.

Yes, i guess having the virus helps build immunity which isbwhat we all need.

A little warmer in the UK. Locally it 8⁰ C, dry and clear.
Shame we cant get out and enjoy it! But i cant complain.

All the best to you and Mrs Franz, have a great weekend.

I am sure it will help.
Some of my friends got positive tested and had absolutely no symptoms at all.

My wife will go skiing tomorrow (cross country).
Not me!
Silent home, so I can do some works.

Planning some vacations in May. In the middle of Portugal.
We need some sun, some good food and nice, friendly people around!

We have heard the same too about no symptoms.

A day off from Mrs Franz, you will miss her.
My other German friends, further north, have a name for being home without their partner.
They call it “storm free” Is this a German saying?

Great to make holiday plans, and May will be here before you know it!

Yes “Sturmfrei”.
Means more off from “observations”
Normally used by young ones when the parents are not at home and the kids can do what they want.
In my age “Sturmfrei” means I can do some works here without any other “orders”.
So I can concentrate on those.

But this expression is a little bit antique.

I like those ones , because all languages are getting more and more “plain” meanwhile.
Many beautiful words, sayings and expressions get lost.

In Germany its pretty hard.
English is en vogue, though I am sure many here don’t understand what they have to
read in the advertising.
Often that kind of English I call it “denglisch” is not used correctly.
But its “in”, that counts.

If either my friend or i get confused with what each other is saying, or trying to say, we say things have been lost in the “Gerlish” translation

Yes this is it.
No orders, no instrusction or storms - arguments for doing the wrong thing

There is really nothing to add, Paul!

I understand English pretty well if not special expressions are used.
If so, one will not find fitting translations easily.

btw The cat is sold
These are the kind of “deals” I like, quick and clean!

I’ve never tested positive.

Wednesday, felt great, did a test, negative, headed out into the world.
Thursday, woke feeling fine, headed out, began feeling ill so went home, negative.
Friday woke ill, negative test, stayed home.
Saturday woke well, negative test, heading out.

In a normal year I’ve had a 24 hour cold. This year…

I am using to have a "normal "flu vacc since 45 years.
Yes indeed this vaccination exists since 1942. :grinning:

Before I started this treatment I got really heavy colds every winter.
After this done, I get no.
Really true.

Same my wife :s
She got really bad and heavy colds every winter, so she started to get that vacc every year.
All over now.
Activating, waking up the immune system this way
helps a lot to avoid many such diseases.

You’re correct. Agree. A harmless kick via the arm helps everything. Wakes up the systems.
