Weekend activities! (old thread reanimated)

I am miffed I missed the 3 swans flying shot, after I put phone away, they flew off…

My broken leg, the knee is not grumbling now it’s the hip grumbling from long swift strides and (today) feet soreness from all the miles.

Once I get to 16 miles / day without any grumblings then can head back into the mountains…

I observed a motorcyclist get hit and broke their leg, their break was very similar to my own, I helped as best I could which was not much. No photos for obvious reasons.

Neither did Debs after her two Pfizer jabs.
Hope yours was contained to feeling low and didn’t get any worse!

Great!
You will read always bad experiences only.
The good ones will never been published.
All my neighbors here got the first vacc, Biontech, Astra.
(BionTech = Pfizer)
All are fine.
We have to wait for the second one. Ca 12 weeks or less.
My “personal physician” (good friend of us) will call us.

I really thought he was going for a refreshing swim.
We know @professor is a tough boy! :grinning:

Yea I haven’t heard of too many bad experiences with Pfizer either. A couple family members had pretty bad fever but could be that their immune system was a bit weaker and had to heat the body up much more than me. I hope I’m right about that. Could be their immune system is better than mine

Exactly.
I do my normal flue vacc every year since 30 years.
And in 2019 I had a hospital surgery .
So I got all vaccs which could be given! :grinning:
I am a living “antibody” :joy:

My wife takes that flue vacc since about 5 years.
After doing this she is so much better with normal colds, she was suffering normally before.

I swept the public pavement in front of our house.

Now I will read more Kafka “Das Schloß”.
I read it often since I was a pupil.
One of the most important German authors of the 20 century.
May be some of you know “The metamorphosis”.
If not, read it!

England changed from 12 weeks gap for everyone to 8 week for over 50s and vulnerable due to a more infectious variant, so I pulled mine forward from 12 to 9 weeks.

I’m just glad it’s over with.

Even so , likely we’re all stuck to home country holidays this year.

Vaccine helps directly and indirectly. Directly by design it teaches the body to reject the specific virus. Indirectly during lockdown it gives a kick,a boost, to the immune system reminder of how to do it’s job. So those who had flu vaccine were harder to be made ill from unrelated Covid.

And a pint keeps the throat clean as well!

Good luck Kaitlyn. I’ve not taken an exam for about 2 years. I got 96% but then I’m a swot.

Get plenty of sleep, it helps the hippocampus flush itself which is the memory area for the sort of information you use in exams.

My family says I’m perfectionist when it comes to school and yes sleep is very important in helping solidify long term memories instead of the short term people rely on when cramming for exams. So far I think everything went well but will have to wait a couple weeks before my final grades are posted

Looking spicy

We had some Korean fried chicken Friday eve, the bbq sauce was mildly spicy…

Oh yeah they were great! Just the right amount of spicy and sweet. Do you have a Buffalo Wild Wings nearby? If so, I’d recommend you to give them a try
