This weekend I drove from Nova Scotia through to Maine and had hours of heavy wind and rain with storm Dorian yesterday.

I made heavy use of my 3 phones, I was navigating, checking the rain radar and current winds and made a route to edge away from the eye of the storm, which by the way if I had stayed put I would have had power outages as the eye went over my prior night’s cabin.

Here is the “fisherman’s friend”

Lenght : 15cm, blades : 10cm

The knob at the end is filled with plumb, very heavy … bumm!

Hope not boring you with such things.
But as we know there are some who collect knives and some who are fishing.
(Hope there are no ones who do phishing :joy:)
May be they like such items.

This weekend the biggest party on earth starts in less than 1 hour.
The Oktoberfest in München.
Often copied but never equalled.

Had a go making scones for the first time (monster behemoth versions at that), made plenty of cakes and pies in the past but never thought of making scones for some reason  …turned out well for a first attempt…now where’s the butter and jam :yum:

Those are looking perfect Neil.
Very British I read.
If you add less sugar than the recipe told, these might be good even for me.
Are these really so sweat?

We are usually mostly in yeast dough for our pizzas.
My wife is always taking apart some dough for
“Zwetschgendatschi”

Very special Bavarian cake.

Kind of plum cake you would say!

Not that sweet on the recipe I used, only 3tbs of sugar (or low gi sweetener in mine) between them…the jam does boost it though but for an occasional treat they are not that bad :slightly_smiling_face:

The plum cake looks good, might have to give that one a shot :yum:

Easy to prepare.
Yeast dough and plums.
The biggest work is cutting the plums.
Sugar can be added in the daugh but there no need if the plums are sweat.

A little bit of whipped cream on top before served is delicious.

Seems we are not in this “bacon trip” as our friends from the USA.:rofl:
