Weekend activities! (old thread reanimated)

If the audience is say 1% infected then the event would infect 600 people of which 400 would feel ill.

How many the Superbowl kills is more a function of how well staffed at the hospitals they end up in.

What’s up guys! Any of you watching the Super Bowl?

Same here with my older iPhone 5. Battery is not great and wasn’t back then either :joy:. Now it’s a web surfer and calculator. This helps reduce battery drain on my iPhone 7

So far a yawner… crowd looks full… they did a zoom in, and they have cardboard cutouts every 2…

They said you could pay $100 to have a cutout of you in the stands lol. No way in hell I’d pay for that

New activities

My wife is baking bread.
Getting better and better.
Not there is no more bread here in MĂźnchen,
but to play around with recipes is great and she likes to bake and I like to eat.

I got a huge pile of one way pallets from my Polish friends.
(great comrades!)
So I am working to crush these on demand.
Its untreated wood, so perfect to fire.

My dad is pretty good cook and I love the biscuits and jams he make. He was experiencing with his recipe and I suggested Cajun powder. I have to say that turned out pretty good.

I wrote you a pm!
I am sure you will enjoy the music.
I like that video so much!
Mark Knopfler one of the best guitarists ever.!

Its not a secret!
Duane likes this kind of music I hope!

Funny , not for US-Americans only!

It’s been cold and rainy here in NC. I’ve been watching movies on Netflix pretty much all day long

Dodging snow, ice, wind and finding cups of tea. The end of a couple of weeks of freezing weather today.

How’s is been up north @professor
The last couple of days we have had feel like temperatures of -6 to -8.
No snow for 3 days.
All the snow we did have is now uneven solid ice.

Well of course when the weather is blowing from the continent those further east experience it worse. here its just freezing but no snow, so sticking to main roads is ice-free and of course the bitter winds keep the wimps at home so I have more freedom.

Did my 35 miles of exercise and visited two cafe counters in the 35mph freezing wind.

Thats right, it gives the couch potatoes more of an excuse to stay at home.
Thats good going, and assume that’s on the bike?
My jogs and our bike rides has become a walk instead.
So not getting as far, but still putting the time in.

It become apparent my Windstopper fleece gloves have come to the end of their life.
Thinks Debs machine washed them last year, but she won’t admin to it!
So not quite so warm or windproof as they should be.
I’ll be looking out for a pair mid/late spring ready for next winter. Will also be snapping up a pair of walking boots too, my old Salomons are getting a litter tired, still waterproof, but getting a bit thin on the treads.

May be I have told you about handwarmers could be charged by USB.

I got a Raynaud syndrom.
Soe these were absolutely perfect when I was visiting flea markets in winter.

But all closed now.
No more fun, no more talking with the buddies,
Sad times. :no_mouth:

Indeed. Today is the tomorrow we had all of yesterday to think about. I took my summer waterproofs to dry cleaners last month and my winter ones I’m wearing now were cleaned and reproofed last summer.

Nothing exists which is waterproof and doesn’t hold your sweat in so I use fleece lined windproof mittens on cold dry days and when it rains swap to some waterproof ones. Walking is easy - pockets! I hand-wash all my technical gear so they last > 10 years so what I have now of course is no longer made.

I must admit yesterday I took my gloves off to eat some sausage+chips from a van I found and while eating them my fingers were decided non-compliant but 10 mins later some fast puff-puff had me warm again.

Yes biking, was under knife again 3 weeks ago and much better thanks.

Indeed, good plan.
Waterproof as far as Goretex goes, the boots are the best Gore purchase I’ve made.
As I’m heading out for a quick walk, heres a couple of pics to bore you with.

Glad you’re recovering well from the op @professor
