Unterschied Video Doorbell und Video Doorbell (Battery-Powered)

Hallo Community,

sorry, I can not tell you more about the doorbell.
But I will translate your request.

Hello, community,

I’m about to buy the video Doorbell, but I have some doubts about.

Unfortunately I can’t find any clear indications of the exact differences and if so I don’t understand them.

There is already installed a doorbell system (i like this in almost every house) and would like to replace it. Is it really true that I can only continue to use my old bell with the battery version, i.e. the Dong or how do you call it?
Why can’t I use the fixed version? Why do I have to hardwire a battery device?
Am I missing something or am I just stupid?

I guess the engineers didn’t think it through, did they?

And why does the release only include the battery version including the homebase?

greetings
Ünal

Here are the key (IMHO) differences:

WIRED VERSION:

  • You use your current wired doorbell system for power.
  • This comes with an electronic chime (“ding dong”).
  • Your current chime will not work.
  • This is currently not compatible with Homebase.
  • Support for Homebase may be coming soon.
  • Videos are stored inside the doorbell (4GB).
  • Connects to home WiFI 2.4 GHz.
  • It has a 3 second buffer to capture video from 3 seconds before trigger.

BATTERY VERSION:

  • You can use with battery (180 day) OR you can hardwire it to your current doorbell system.
  • This includes Homebase 2.
  • Videos are stored inside the Homebase (16GB).
  • No buffer; videos start at trigger.
  • Quite a bit larger than the non-battery version.

If you have a wired chime it’s best to get the battery version as it’s supported, the wired version doesn’t support a chime so it would have to be rewired to bypass it

Also battery version supports down to 8v (UK standard), wired version only goes down to 16v (US standard), Europe including Germany uses 12v so for the wired version you will have to fit a transformer

Could be I am wrong.
But here in Germany we have another voltage for those systems and you have to change the
transformator.
So the battery version should be the best for you as @onstar and @Haloweenhamster already mentioned.
If there are more questions do not hesitate and ask us.

So the battery version can be hardwired using the existing doorbell voltage and it will connect to the HomeBase?
Both versions of Homebase?
Would your existing doorbell chime work?

Is this still the case or have newer firmware updates made this threat obsolete?
