Unsupported HD 😔

Hi al
I have a 1TB mac formatted hard drive with all my movies on that.
I connected this external HD to the Nebulla 2 via USB port and then it came up in Notification and said something like…
Unsupported Storag device :thinking::man_shrugging:
I tried using VLC but VLC obviously also doesn’t see it therefore as a storage device.

Is there anyone that can help me so i can eatch my movies please :pray:t2:

Hi @Jim_Naeger from what I recall only FAT or exFAT are supported under the Nebula projector line.

@ndalby
Yeah i also asked the support team and response is:

Thank you for contacting us and letting us know your issue.

Regarding your issue you come across, please be noted that when a USB drive is formated via an IOS device, it won’t be compatible with devices of Android or Windows operating systems. That is the root cause of the issue you come across. We recommend you test another USB drive with the Capsule II if possiblle.

Meanwhile, please install the File Explorer app on Capsule II from the Google Play store. Only with installing this app, can you find the local files in it after plugging a USB drive to the Capsule II.

Unfortunately when I created my movie HD i never thought about The possibility that the format I was using with the Mac could be a problem :man_shrugging:

My bad I guess :woozy_face:

There are two Operating Systems, two filesystems, and a codec topic here.

Android is in Nebula and typically will work with FAT or exFAT.

Chances are your 1TB MAC formatted drive is not this.

So plug in another, smaller, USB device, like a 64GB USB stick, tell your MAC to format it for FAT32, or exFAT.

Copy the files you want to play to the USB device, eject. Plug into Nebula, play.

If it doesn’t play, may be a codec issue, more complex to solve.
