UK Powercore 20000 PD £27

Not the lowest price ever, It has been £25 in March, was this £27 in February.

So if not in a hurry this will probably be £2-£3 lower later. The Pound vs Dollar is to the UK’s favour right now so I’m expecting a new lower price shortly, around £24. How that would manifest is probably this £27 goes up, to say £29 and a voucher for £5 gets us to £24, then that would be a buy recommendation.

But if you’re impatient, can’t wait to save about £3 then go for this deal, 20Ah is a lot of energy and in truth £27 is not a lot of £ , it can charge two things at once at 18W total, or one at 18W, and recharges <7 hours, pair with the Nano 18W which has been as low as £10 and you got a typical phone recharge 4 times system for £37. Comes with the USB cable so if you have an Android phone then good overall answer for camping etc.

Thats a decent deal on a great PowerCore @professor

I got this 20000 PD as a gift from Anker last Xmas.

It got accidentally in a puddle yesterday, I lifted it out, dried it, still worked, but as wet lithium can spontaneously catch fire I played safe and put it outside last night under metal, and this morning it is dead. Oh well. It looks slightly swollen.

I’ve never accidentally broken any Anker product ever before, so rare. And I’ve only ever had one Powercore fail on me before from old age, it swelled in the middle.

But ultimately the Lithium products do age and die, so I’d always recommend get the smallest lower cost one which suffice, and prefer two 10000 over one 20000 if I’m depending on power.

Oh no, gutted @professor it (was) a great PowerCore.
Will you replace?

Amazon has it on deal of the day!

Yes , in the thread where I declare it’s deal of the day, yes I know it’s £27.

No I won’t replace it, I prefer 10Ah , own 3 of them already and if I need 20Ah I’ll carry two 10Ah, it’s more reliable and flexible that way. And if a 10Ah were to die I’d wasted £19 not £27.

I’d swapped bags in a hurry and put this 20Ah in with a bottle and then an hour later there was a puddle. I usually have bottles in outside pockets and Powercore inside pockets to keep water away.

Sad to see a Powercore die of other than old age, but I’ve slapped my own wrists and will be doubly careful next time.

Besides, this 20Ah I’m betting is £24 in next days.

Yeah, as youve commented before 2 smaller units
are more flexible than 1 larger unit.
I may go that route when the 20000mah dies.

If you don’t make the foolish error I made yours will last 4 years.

I usually have water in outside lower pockets, in case they leak, and Powercore in upper inside pockets to keep away from water and if I were to ever fall down the Powercore is not smashed, but I was rushing and put a water bottle and a powercore together inside a small bag, and the bottle chose that moment to crack, and so Powercore in a puddle.

Camping:

  • keep Powercore in waterproof bags
  • ideally have two of them, one each side, in case you fall, unlikely both smashed
  • keep water separate.
  • if you have an accident, one Powercore may die, but you still have the other and just ration
  • don’t buy big Powercore.
  • don’t buy expensive Powercore. Everything dies.

Hopefully you’re right @professor
Right in that it will last 4 years, not that i drop it in a puddle.
