But these “projects” are different.

E.g. I would never go to real shopping with my wife.
I dont need here in München, but in Portugal (Madeira, Acores) I have to.
But solved without any problems.
There is always a bar in those supermarkets
where I can “wait”. and talk to others who like (need) to wait.
Always fun!

Laughing.

Yes I sit and write shopping lists of what we need. Then I go the shop, get those things and return. With just what we agreed we needed.

Mrs Geek disappear for hours, returns with many things we don’t need and not the thing sent out to get.

Yes agree, better to waste time in a bar than waste time looking at things you dont need.

Sharp find @paulstevenewing

Now thats what they need to introduce in shops everywhere.
Then everyone will be happy to join their partner shopping!

Me too.
We have a list, but beside the things on the list, she gets always other things.
But she like to go shopping so I need not to go.

I can understand presents for people without money, like children, but for most people if they wanted something they’d have it already, so by definition a present is mostly future:

We dont give any present to each other since many years.

Stress for the donator and disappointment for the receiver.
After that:
Disappointment for the donator and stress for the receiver to get rid of it.

Debs and i buy each other a small gesture from Charlie (his choosing) as its nice for him.
The last few years we have spent the money we would have spent on presents on family meals instead and like that much more.

And agree with you both. Sometimes its feeling pressured to buy something and often anything!

We tend to buy what we want/need when we want/need.

I was often asked what I would like to get for present from colleagues
Simple :
A good Italian Salami. Never wrong!

Now I would say : Get me “Presunto” (Portuguese smoked ham)
Didn’t find the fitting English expression. Ham? (This is cooked as far I know)

Ham is cured pork :pig::pig::pig:
I don’t eat much salami but one of the nicest ones (for my taste) was a winter salami my other German friend sends me for Christmas.
I don’t know its name though :man_facepalming:t2:
