Good price for what you get.

I’m pretty sure Anker discontinued making the Mini 2 when they did the Flare, Icon, Motion Q. The Mini 2 was meant to replace the Mini but they kept the stock levels of Mini up for some reason, possibly as it had the FM radio and played from SD card the others didn’t.

I think you’re right @professor as stocks seem very low. Plus the design looks a bit retro.

This may be a way therefore to shift old stock. This Mini 2 was the first, from memory, to have stereo pairing and so as it’s the oldest, its probably the lowest cost way to make a stereo. It is a product over 2 years old.

If it’s not manufactured, therefore, these renewed ones are necessarily getting older (battery aging). The only renewed item I have ever bought was a product recently released so could never be old.

The Mini 2, I have one of them, their biggest design flaw is the sound goes straight up and is very bass , so you have to put them on their round side to get a decent sound. Anker sent me the Mini 2 for free to review and I got an Icon mini for free later, and I use the Icon as I can point it’s sound better in any direction, like towards me.

I guess there 2 kinds of renewed products, people who change their mind and send back and genuine faults.
Either way as we’ve talked about before, it makes you wonder what condition the batteries are in.

The description only mentions the warranty,

But the description of a PowerCore mentions battery capacity,

Maybe all rechargeable products should have a battery indication.
Although thats probably not a real indicator of life expectancy.

But you have 4 dimensions of cost, your time to select and buy, your money, your time to use, and your time to return to make a warranty claim. If it’s more likely to incur warranty effort, call that an hour in total, how much do you value an hour of time? A renewed product which is no longer being made, necessarily means it must be chronologically older and even if there is a warranty, you are increasing your time effort statistically with items with batteries which are older. If it didn’t have a battery, less bothered about age.
